I'll second this. I want a pet class again where the focus is almost entirely on a customizable and versatile pet.

In XI I thought Pup was the primary source of damage and the pet secondary...

Not if you had any idea how to build the puppet while leveling in ToAUdotdotdot

Which clearly you didn't, otherwise you'd know that having a red mage support puppet made you nearly unkillable while leveling. :P

Yea, I'd love to see this in XIV as well, but it wouldn't be the same.

Edit: I realized I didn't make this clear, and it seemed more like a direct insult which it wasn't meant to be. There was, and still is, multiple ways to build pup in XI. When it comes to lvling, you could do a pup primary dmg pet secondary, you could do a pet primary pup secondary, or you could have gone the route I mentioned above pup primary pet support. Each one has it's own strength and weakness, the real power of the class was it's ability to be customized to the individual players style. This also lead to the primary problem with the class, this level of versatility made it difficult for non-pup players to know exactly what to do with a pup in the party. With the right attachments, a pup could fill any position in the party, but they would never be the best in that position, and you could never be sure if that pup knew how to fill that position...... Or you know could just solo their way through almost everything.
