Random invites are a red flag to me. If you cant be bothered to say hello to me before inviting me to join your club then your club is not for me. Best bet is to ask to get into the FC that you have friends in/know people in or if that isnt an option try a few of them out as Yasuhiro said.

In the end, though, you'll just have to take a chance with any FC. I'd say don't be too scared to join one, but yeah, I know it's really hard to tell which FC will be a good-natured one. I've met people and made in-game friends through doing things together from the Party Finder. Maybe one day you'll join a group of people through Party Finder and really like their company, so you could then ask to join a FC that one of them is in.

Having a ton of fun! I finally got into one of the Classes that required a second job to advance.

Question: Would it be recommended to grind in all of the job classes to lvl 15, 30 for any reason? Would I need to do so for any MSQ?

Not for the MSQ but when it comes to the cross class skills. Some Jobs and their cross classes require only level 15, but some do require up to level 34 and they are mandatory if you are interested in endgame content. Best advice I can give is that you figure out which class you're interested in and then google or come back and ask, much easier that way than having to list everything.

If you do crafting, most people recommend getting everything to 15(or higher) for cross class skills. Its not an issue at all for gathering classes. Combat classes really only benefit each other via the cross-class skills and/or shared gear. Some classes have more important cross class skills then others though, so this isnt really spread evenly. So Luna has the right of it, figure out which class(s) you find most interesting and either ask or look up the skills they need most. That will give you a decent guide to where your leveling interest can best be applied. All you get for doing every class is an extra title or two(and those require level 50 or 60 each).

And finally, nothing in the MSQ will require anything more then one class at an appropriate level. The story accommodates any combat class/job for each step, so you can use what you like.

http://www.ffxivguild.com/ff14-drago...-skills-guide/ is a pretty good listing for when it comes to cross class skills for your Dragoon. You want to level up Pugilist and Marauder as well, since they provide skills which your Dragoon can use

If in the future you wish to try different classes, well then you need to level up the rest as well I think.

I now have all the fighting classes at some level. Lowest 32 highest 60. But my character started originally as an Arcanist. Arcanist has 2 jobs attached to it. Summoner and Scholar.

To become a Summoner I had to level up Thaumaturge to 15, and for Scholar I also needed to level up Conjurer to 15. Next to that Summoner can also use Archer skills. So I needed to level that one as well.

So basically I ended up leveling 4 classes just to get the nice cross class skills for my Summoner and Scholar.

If you wish to play Dragoon only for now, stick with the class and have fun. You can always try other classes later

There is another benefit to leveling other classes that I don't think anyone mentioned. (Sorry if I missed it.)

By leveling other classes you can understand how they work and what skills they are using.

In a dungeon you see a swirling puddle of sand on the ground? Is that something a monster used? Or a skill your teammate used? Is it safe to stand in? Or should you avoid it?

By understand what skills other players are using and how they use them, you can work more effectively as a team.

For Dragoon, you absolutely want to level Pugilist to Level 12 for Internal Release. Then you can always use that with Blood for Blood for high effect. Along the way you'll also learn Second Wind which can be decent in an emergency. After that, there are no other extremely important cross-class skills for Dragoon that you need to get now. You already have Foresight and Bloodbath from levelling Marauder to 15 to even promote to a Dragoon, and those are decent. Mercy Stroke will be your last cross-class skill, learned at Marauder Level 26, but you can get that whenever you want.

Very true by Fina. Learning what other classes abilities look like and do is a good benefit. Another "hidden" benefit is getting an understanding of what other classes/roles have to do to succeed and how you can help on your main job. For instance, a tank could learn things like not spinning enemies and denying melee their positionals, or grouping up enemies right for aoe by playing DPS and seeing how important it is to them. Or a DPS might learn to control hate better and drag enemies back to the pack after they peel off by playing tank for awhile.

In fact you need to level thm to 26 for swiftcast, especially when playing one of the healer classes and it's defiantly useful as smn. WHM gotta be level'd to 34 for stone skin, not that it's useful as a scholar but on whm and astro you should have that.
