I think the fact that you lose everything if you don't log in shortly after demolition is unnecessarily punitive. There is no reason the housing npc cannot hold onto your furniture and or your gil indefinitely.

Unfortunately a very vocal portion of the FF playerbase seems to call for others to be punished every time they do something they dislike, while most others rarely consider things until they are directly affected. I suspect a combination of these factors is why we've seen such a harsh system implemented with little protest. Sadly, a lot of us don't care what happens to other people unless it affects us too.

Your private room in the FC house is only safe as long as the rest of the FC is active and using the house. The same goes for a room in a house you share, it's safe only as long as the owner stays active.
Tenants are in a horrible position due to reclamation with very little security. I hope the apartments they are introducing aren't subject to the same rules.

I do understand housing is in short supply but punishing players who take a break by removing their gil and belongings from the game as well as reclaiming their house is hardly fair. The shortage is not the player's fault.

@ Olivia I've seen so many houses like this; reclamation doesn't stop some people sitting on properties they barely use.
