Add A "Face" Slot, Attached To "Head"

YoshiP has already indicated that PS3 support will more than likely end with 4.0 so I do not really see this as an issue.

Wouldn't change much, because to me it seem to be more like designer limitation.
It is the same reason why they went from visible belts in the belt slot to invisible belt. Because it cost less time to design a belt directly on a body armor than to design every body armor around every belt that can added to it.

So instead of adding a face slot, that would end up working just like the current belt slot, they just don't do it and go directly to the hat+face combination designs.

Thanks for the feedback regarding face and head glamour customization. While we currently have no plans to add an additional slot for glamours, we can definitely look into adding more variations on head gear that includes glasses and other facial accessories as a set, such as the existing Harlequin's Cap or Sharlayan Preceptor's Hat.

Be sure to let us know your suggestions on what kind of combinations you would like to see, and we'll be sure to pass that along to the dev. team.

Gonna be forward, and maybe it's just me, but both of those items you linked are ugly. Hopefully we get cuter pairings and less wizard hats and jester caps. (Seriously. You don't see anyone wear these.)

While it's not exactly a 'pairing', I would like to see gas masks added the the game!

Some pieces from the very steampunk-esque sky pirate sets offer the same kind-of look, however I'd like to see proper gas masks! Big filters, straps and creepy eye holes!

I'm sad that this still seems to be off the table. I made this same suggestion 5 years ago, I guess it's still too difficult to implement. Here's to hoping they can reconsider this when they drop PS3 support.

It's unlikely they'd drop support any time soon, but even if they eventually did, all characters and gear would still have to be displayable on the PS3 version. Dropping support just means not releasing expansions for it. But the base game itself, ARR, is released for PS3, so all characters and gear that can exist within ARR areas will always need to be PS3 compatible. It's only features that could be limited to new expansion regions only that would be able to drop support for older systems.

Well, having ps3 support at the onset did require them to make a good controller setup.

They did an amazing job with that, and I personally prefer to play on the controller even though I'm on PC.

You know, I'd like you to talk individually to each and every FFXIV subscriber who started on PS3, or on a PC with less than stellar capabilities and ask them whether or not scaling back the game's hardware requirements was a good idea. The PS3 work allowed them (SE's devs) to make a game that could play on a far, far wider range of PCs than would ever have been the case otherwise. Far from being a disaster, the PS3 support encouraged their developers to be frugal with their use of hardware in the game client. Another way to say this would be to say efficient. I'd rather have that than a bloated monstrosity that runs great on a 2016 mid range gaming rig, but runs like crap on consumer PCs and not at all on consoles.
