    New Summoner Skills for 4.0

    For me I would like to see Dreadwyrm Stance as an unlimited ability like cleric stance or Sword/Shield oath. It would give you 10% magic damage increase and would allow you to use skills only available while in Dreadwyrm stance like Dark Knight. Ruin 3 and the mp cost would be the same as Ruin 1 but the potency is at 200. and Deathflare be made a different skill with a 1 minute cool down but the potency doubled. As for Egi's people say that it is useless to add more but i would love to have more Egis. And if the Devs are worried about space and lore you can just sort all the pets into one of the 3 summon skills. For example Garuda, Ramuh and a new primal caster type in summon 1. In summon 2 you would have Titan, Shiva and maybe Bismark. In summon 3 you would have Ifrit, Leviathan and maybe Ravana. As for lore they could do a questline that increases your aether so you can have more pets. That way there is more diversity.

    Also if they don't make Dreadwyrm stance an ability then i would love to see the time it's up for increased to 30 seconds. Also add more pet skills so it feels like your playing a Summoner class and increase the sustain skill to 20 secs. They should keep Aetherflow but increase the traits to 6 so after you use all your festers or another skill you won't be forced to use ruin. I know Dreadwyrm stance was supposed to account for the empty rotation but still it feels like you don't have your full amount of DPS. They should also increase take contagion off of Garuda and make it an an Arcanist trait for when you reach 50 or whatever cause it makes people chose Garuda over Ifrit every time. And make DoTs do damage including DoT that will be applied like Miasma does even if it is small damage. Also make the class mostly about the pet and not the Summoner like in FF 11 but have the Caster do some DPS but most of your DPS relies on your pet rather than yourself. The DPS of the caster will include the skills i mentioned above.

    I would also like to see a complete redesign of the Egi's and make them bigger because right now they look completely terrible. These are some of my thoughts on some improvements and new skills. What change do you think the Devs could do to fix Summoner?

    Give SMN a skill similiar to Dissipation that allows you to consume your egi and extend Dreadwyrm Trance, or if the pet is currently 'boosted', grants you their remaining buff as Dreadwyrm Trance.

    A targeted Aetherflow skill that allows you to immediately resummon the pet consumed by Dreadwyrm Trance, as long as not-Dissipation hasn't run out. If cast with an Titan-egi, the egi explodes forth at target location and grants the newborn titan-egi large amounts of enmity. If cast with Ifrit, does single-target damage and a small DoT. If cast with Garuda, causes a half-circle AoE with pushback.

    An ability that turns Aetherflow Attunement into a pet-version of Dreawyrm trance, giving the pet's skills new abilities and effects and (as OP above asked) makes them look bigger/faster/stronger. Think of it as the difference between a "class"-level pet and a "job"-level pet. Garuda get bigger and badder AoE, Titan gets more migitation and some of the SMN's enmity, and Ifrit gets an escalating damage-up when attacking a single target.

    A support shield skill that gives the game's single most killable glass-cannon a neat defensive cooldown; burns all Aetherflow and Aethertrail attunement stacks to put up a shield that grants 5% damage reduction (cannot be stacked with other shields) per stack to the SMN and his Egi, and half that amount to anyone else within the shield. 180 sec global cooldown. Will probably get abused to kingdom come and get nerfed by SE.

    The final ability is a pet-swap with a 30 sec cooldown, that allows you to switch out egis at your own leisure. No cast time, no cast frames. You use the skill and *boom*, new egi.



    Essentially, it's all about the pets, make pets important again. Gimme back a Titan-egi that doesn't suck. Make Ifrit a viable choice for a single-target dps.

    Only if they make Enochian a sissy stance as well. Rhalgr knows it would be nice to maintain my 85% magic boost for free. I do sympathize with you though. I feel way too much work is required to use DWT. Much less only get 18 seconds out of it. Meanwhile all the BLM has to do is hit one button.

    Those are some great points. Adding to the list of things to improve Summoner, I would like to see the new skills fron 60-70 be for the pets and not the caster.

    So, a Deathflare in AoE with 800 potency every 60 second ? Does it have to make coffee too ? XD

    I can understand what you suggest, but all of this is waaaaay too overpowered XD

    Sure it sounds Overpowered but I am sure SE can nerf some of te skills so it seems balanced. I just want the class to have an Summoner feel and not just a dot caster with support.
