To craft the full left side sets (DoH and DoL) it requires 72 glass fibers, to additionally craft the right side 30 more and then for the tools themselves needs another 189. In total to craft all the tools (primary and secondary) and right/left side pieces (DoL/DoH) it comes to a total of 291 glass fibers to make enough luminous fibers (97 luminous fibers required in total).

Alternatively each luminous fiber on MB costs 200k+ and to buy enough would cost around 20million gil on my server for that single ingredient alone. As for the T5 crafting materia, we can farm up to T4 crafting materia via airships and we can farm DoW/DoM T5 materia but we cannot farm crafting T5's...I think that should be changed so can also farm some T5 crafting ones from airships. Even if do not gain many per trip, some would be better than none. Now if your someone who does not make use of either the fibers or materia in crafting/gearing and only wished to sell them then I can understand why you would fear more ways being added as the price would drop but not everyone wants to farm them only to sell.

Sorry to rain down but you need to check the synth mate 3 Glass fibers = 3 Lum Fibers Please Check it so your math is way off hope this helps i had 220 was more than enough to make 2 set's of each and all tools for main and alt

Oh you are correct, I just double checked and noticed they have made it 3 per craft. I thought it was 1 per craft. So it's 97 glass fibers needed then not 291...my bad.

I got the moogle beast tribe up to rank 7 on 2 characters, and each character ended up with enough kupo nuts for a full set of DoH gear, minus MH/OH. (But I'm temporarily going with the i200 MH, and intend to craft the i195 OH later on)
Then I gathered the rest of the mats, and crafted the luminous fibers myself. (Then again, the luminous fiber market on Balmung is pretty much destroyed by now, with them going at 50k each)

The rest of the mats weren't really that big of a deal either, considering you're using this set for the remainder of HW. (which is another 8 months at least)

T5 crafting materia requiring some form of effort to obtain isn't a bad thing, as long as it's not entirely unreasonable like the pre-3.3 way. Even then, players can get 3 control and 3 craftsmanship Vs just from getting the moogle tribe to rank 7. Outside of that, it's really easy to craft and spiritbond a carbonweave set, since it doesn't require a lot of mats, and you can just quicksynth recipes like sewing needle of high mythrite nuggets (which only need a few mats, since they were designed for spiritbonding)

The notion of "not everyone wants to farm them only to sell" doesn't mean that obtaining grade V materia should suddenly be made even easier. The rate at obtaining this materia is fine, if you want to sit back and let your airship bring them back, then you're just out of luck.
