Most memorable NPCs outside of main scenario or sidequests?

For job quests...both Jacke and V'kebbe...particularly the latter and her love of sandwiches from the Bismarck restaurant. Always chuckle when I find her standing outside the place munching on one.

I like V'kebbe too. Especially when she ends up eating Jacke's sammiches. Unless I'm misremembering. She does like her sammiches though.

Severain the Alchemist Guildmaster had a pretty touching story. So far I enjoyed that more than the other Crafting quests.

I also liked the couple from the palace with the tonberries. I believe they send you on the quest for the HM version of it.

The Aesthetician, of course. Who doesn't love that guy?

In the quests he steals hers for certain, and she reminds him of one of the aspects of the code (basically that you "don't bite the purses o' yer fellow Lominsans") and then strings him up for the night.

I don't think she's prone to stealing any from him, as I got the impression her getting sandwiches from the Bismarck herself was a fairly regular thing (and it's almost certainly what she's eating when she's standing around outside the restaurant).

Outside of MSQ "and" sidequests? Now that's a tough one, because there are so few NPCs not involved in a sidequest of sort.

I nominate the Wary Merchant from the ceruleum road FATE. He doesn't have a name, nor does he need a name - I remember him anyway because I escorted his butt through the area several times over.

Then again...a FATE arguably is a sidequest, no? :/

You would think he'd pop up in Hildebrand quests. Though seriously, I think if FFXIV introduces Dancer, that guy should be the guildmaster... or part of the questline as a former dancer turned hairstyler but will teach you the "forbidden arts". He swings those scissors around like daggers.

As he seems to be os Ishgard that would ask why wasn't DNC in Heavensward.

There IS an Ishgardian dancing meastro! You learn the ballroom dance from him.

But on topic, Jaindelain is up there. I was thrilled he starred in a mail quest.

As for job related quests, I'd give it to the ACN quest crew.
