I was just saying that you can't go around and say "majority" said the game is fine as it is when the poll is easily exploitable, it's just false and that's why you got that answer, that poll proves nothing.
I don't care if they put a dislike button in the forum or not tbh, people can just make a post here if they got something to say.

Sure, I'll agree that strawpoll is probably easily manipulated, and the poll isn't exactly official... but you guys are reading way to far into my point. I never said you can't express your opinion and concerns to them. I said don't believe you and some other people represent everyone. Yes, I have heard in here plenty of times like "everyone in the game is sick of" or "the game is dying/doomed!". Its assumptions that people cannot back up and some let their own personal experience represent how the entire game is holding up. Then again, every MMO forum has things like "the game is declining" and things like that. This type of stuff is not new.

And you're entitled to disagree just as we are to voice our opinion. Glad that mattered was settled. There's a difference between people saying "this game is doomed!" at its peak or "Wildstar is gonna kill XIV" type of things. -I- can log in and feel the lack of activity on my server. It is NOT as active as it was in the past. Neither is my FC. While it is NOT the populace, it still goes to show that -people are leaving-. Gradually. Slowly. The game is on a decline. No one said how steep this decline is.

The reason why we can't back it up is because the higher ups refuse to let us back it up. Again, if they gave us that information, they can share active subs and compare it to patches before. But because we do not have this information, we are left with what we see on our server. Our experience. The forums. We seek other places for this data that the higher ups do not wish to share with us. What else would you want us to do exactly for "Proof"?

That also happens when people put 9 good suggestions and 1 bad one in the same post. Someone will stand up and say the post is full of bs because there is that 1 point that he doesn't agree with and totally ignore the other 9.

It's called churn and is a feature of the mmo genre. Friends leave. Guilds/FCs fall apart. Game populations flux between servers. This happened even in WoW during the height of its popularity in TBC/WotLK. All because your friends leave, your FC is less active and your server "feels" less populated is NOT representative of the health of the game as a whole. It is literally the definition of anecdotal evidence.

Most of my friends have left the game by this point so I have to invest time in finding new friends which is rather easy since plenty of new people are on my server (either as transfers or brand new players). Furthermore I'm on a supposedly "dead" server too but I see no shortage of new and old faces when I am traveling about.

The reality is based on the probable numbers we have gleamed from unofficial censuses the game is doing very well for an MMO, especially a sub fee mmo, in this day and age. During the 6.1 content drought at the start of the year FF14 had over 800k active players that were not bots which is pretty incredible when put into context of the industry as a whole. That said people do seem to burn out faster these days but that is entirely a symptom of the mmo genre being in decline and the changing tastes of the modern gamer.

Seriously, I would like to know where you got that number(over 800k ACTIVE) especially because you are stating "that were not bots".

I think on some website it showed that the population peaked at 770k or something (including bots).
The same website that said the population fell to 200k after some months.

Well yeah, the population is very low due the game offering nothing but loop of casual contents right now people clear within few hours, that's why the game needs a huge revamp as soon as possible.

I was kinda expecting this response because I know well already that evidence planted was not hard facts. That's what the second paragraph you cut out was saying. You want hard facts to show the decline but we do not have these hard facts because they are not shared with us.

Subjective, but seeing Internet is much more accessible, I'd say it should be doing a lot better. I don't try to throw numbers that I have nothing to back. This is why I use "anecdotal evidence" and unofficial polls because it's the closest I can get. It's not going to represent the entirety because we are just one section of the game. But it still shows a point.

Wow, this game is way more dead than i thought, we're 200k?

That's a really low number, no wonder SE doesn't give out info on amount of players when it's that low.

I really hope they're working to change the formula and apply it at most on 4.0, if not then all hope is lost.
