Well, I went Xaela after. I might switch again to Duskwight in a few weeks. Name changes and fantasia potions are going to get expensive...

You should not care about how many of X or Y race there, what you like to play as, should come first. I am a Miqote and I love the race, but it is also an fact that there are alot (and I mean alot of ) Miqotes, but that does not stop me from being one. Ask yourself, do you want to play a race, because its rare or, because you like them as a race?I want to switch my main character's race and I'm having trouble making up my mind.
The Xaela look awesome and have cool names reflecting their tribe, and as such a piece of the character's history. The only problem is that there are so many of them running around!
The Elezen NPCs have grown on me a lot as I've played, and they're a lot less common. I'm levelling dark knight right now and really enjoying the class, and I like the aesthetic of a Duskwight dark knight.
Please, help me make up my mind.
Personaly, I think the Elezen body (minus the face, sorry Elezens only Aymeric looks hot to me) looks great on armour, the plate and cloth armour looks amazing on the Elezen. The one thing that makes me dislike playing an Elezen is the running/sprinting animation, they are horrible, so I do recommend you play as one, before you use a Fantasia on your current character.
The Au Ra have great body (minus the hips), the Au Ra have great looking faces, probably the most handsome face off all the male races. Their upper body is looks very good, but the hips is something that I dislike. The reason is, because on robes the hips makes the oufit looks silly. If you are only playing DoW classes, then this would not be any issues for you, but I play as a healer, so robes/cloth outfit is my main outfit. The Au Ra have one of the best male running/sprinting animation. I have noticed that the little things like lip-colour arent there, even if you pick a colour. Its like the skincolour and lip colour have two layers and they dont mesh.
My advice, create both races, log in and play them for a hour or two.
PS: If you want to be rare, play a Roegadyn.

As a Duskwight, I can tell you the biggest reason you should switch is to watch them /dance. It is the most hilarious, half-hearted, unenthusiastic display of happiness I have ever seen. Their /joy (or /happy, can never remember which) is also really ridiculous.
I'm chalking it up to Elezen don't socialize much.

Do you crave the open sky, the thunder of hooves (or talons)? Do you crave meat and milk, wind in your hair and the world beneath your feet? Is your song the one that friends hear and enemies fear?
If not, be a lame Duskwight shut-in who hides in the woods all day and is a big nerd.

Duskwight, if made properly, have one of the most handsome looks of all the races. Well, the MALE ones certainly do.
I love my characters looks and will never ever change it.
Also duskwights are all ishgardians, fought a thousand year war against dragons and are totally badass compared to the three cuddlers from gridania.![]()
I think you are wrong, its the Wildwood Elezen that went to Coerthas and became Ishgardians.Duskwight, if made properly, have one of the most handsome looks of all the races. Well, the MALE ones certainly do.

I agree with what you said. Elezen is the first race to appear on the continent. Duskwight hid and lived in caverns while Wildwood went all over Arzea and established themselvelves and made civilisations, built cities (Gridania, Ishgard), etc.

Well, I'm an introvert irl, I guess it makes sense for my Duskwight to stay inside and play video games while the Wildwood furthers society.
