I suppose, but where we are right now is pretty damn high if you just triple or quad meld accessories (using V materia for at least the guaranteed slots, ideally). You'd only really be a few stats off cap for each accessory, which while added up in total is a decent number (total of maybe 10 or so for each stat of craft/control and maybe up to 6 CP off), I'd think there would be some leeway when 4-star hits the scene. Short of them requiring best melds for MH/OH i195 stuff to hit the future 4-star minimum, I can't really see the need for penta on accessories with how the gear is now being a thing.

I'd imagine most people aren't going to really bother trying to get whatever maxes they can with MH/OH yet though, given the uncertainty and huge cap ranges between them, until 4-star hits the scene anyway. Like we can be significantly above minimum for current upper 3-star without accessory pentas, which would mean that 4-star reqs would be insanely high if we had to min/max every single thing lol. Given where we are, I would think that quads is enough for accessories (as long as you're at least near capping each stat), combined with their likely expectation of having at least the i200 MH and maybe some high tier melds into the i195 OH. Having the i195 MH would make things all the more easier (though costly) to hit, in that situation. Then again, this is all speculation. They could always be unnecessarily cruel about it and require perfect melds and direction, in the case of MH/OH lol.

Just as a side note: Maxing, or at least nearly maxing out, the main 5 armor slots is simple enough though, so I'm not really gonna be counting those.

Edit: Mind you, I'm not saying that people SHOULDN'T do it, just that given the values, it doesn't seem too likely to be a requirement later if you're going to be making up for it with the MH/OH melding. That for now, it seems to be more for the completion and satisfaction of penta melding than anything that'll be sensibly required.

I get what you're saying, and it makes enough sense, but my original post said "worth of materia", as in, I'm not out there spending millions on materia. I have quite a bit of free time as a crafter/non-raider between now and 3.4, so why not max out my accessories with materia I'm getting through SBing and airships? It certainly helps now with adjusting rotations to have less RNG and will help with hitting the minimum stats when 3.4 comes around. Plus, these are likely the accessories we're going to have til the end of 3.x, so I'm not really losing anything (technically time, but I don't consider this a "loss", personally) by pentamelding them.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.
