All these awesome set pieces with their own atmosphere and identity in each room. I might be making a big deal out of it but it was pretty awesome in VII
Entrance (Don't give them your hard earned GP to save!)

    Entrance II

Battle Square (Deep Dungeon kinda has mechanics from this by the looks of it with the random buffs/debuffs)

    The Ghost Square (Best one!)

    Wonder Square

And XIV's Gold Saucer has.... the manderville statue and the Cactuar?
I'm sorry if the gold saucer in XIV was your first experience with it.

Heck I think even the music for it was better in VII.

I just discovered the Gold Saucer last night.

Nostalgia aside, I didn't find it very interesting.

It was nice to see & hear the callbacks to FF7 and to play Triple Triad, but I'm hoping for something like a better playing Blitzball minigame to give me an excuse to come there. Mt. Corel attraction was cute.

I'll come back for the Chocobo racing and Triple Triad, but doesn't warrant spending a large chunk of time there.

Question: Are events regularly scheduled at the GS? Is there any performances normally shown? Would be cool to have something like the Black Mages/EB Papas come and perform in game.

Turtle mount (I F dislike it but a lot of people do like it) bunny attire, 2 of them, gambler attire, hairstyles, dances, fenrir, more clothes, minions, etc etc, there are good prizes there.

And yeah as someone who farmed fenrir, I think its still fun, my favorite part is the chocobo races and some events.

So do you think it's okay as it is ? Do you like spending time there ?

Personally, it's not my cup of tea, it's kind of boring, there is not very interesting thing to do...

I would like more real attractions, like roller coaster. In FFVII there is the Speed Square where you can win one of the best weapon for Aerith, and you have to shoot targets, I think it was funny

Only gonna reply to the opening post:
So uh... do you pity raiders, dungeon goers, and all, as well?
Isn't raiding, doing dungeons, etc, the same exact thing?

Yes and no. If you remove the graphic designs, framework, and background, essentially looking at a bare minimum of a blank background with solid blocks to represent character models and color (all players are a blue block, all mobs are a red block, etc), then yes, it's the same thing. Likewise in that case, you'd not be able to distinguish the difference between an Alex Savage boss and a lv1 mob in the open world until you engage it. Add in the visual/audible details, however, and you have your experience, which is where they differ.

Think of it akin to swimming in a pool and swimming in the ocean. The actions and activities can potentially be the same, in that you're swimming and you could technically fashion a pool into a large aquarium of sorts with the dangers of the ocean, but the experience and expectations are what matters. In combat situations, you're expecting to take action in a similar way, but be stimulated through flashy effects, danger, actual combat-related challenge, and grouping. With the Gold Saucer, you're expecting harmless fun akin to an amusement park or arcade (or FFVII Gold Saucer, for those with that experience). If the games/rides/etc are too bland, then it isn't going to go very far for people over time (period of time depends on exactly how bland said activities are).

I enjoy the chocobo racing a lot, I even bred a 285 rating choco and I have the chocobo trainer title. The gold saucer is an awesome idea, and a great optional timesink for some cool glamour items. They just need to add more content to it. They need to create a playerbase for verminion (I'd play it if I didn't have to wait 20 minutes for a match against a human) and add some classic FF staple mini-games like blitzball.

Another thing they should add are more mounts. I've got Adamantoise and I'm about half way to getting Fenrir, which are both really cool, but the rest of the Gold Saucer prizes are really lackluster.
