To all players who are kicking people while they the proverbial door of this game...

Why you have to be so mean?

I'm embarrassed to even have you be a part of this community, and I condemn your arrogant and selfish acts of superiority! We don't need your "only the strong will survive" mentality since that will ruin this game for future players! We don't need this elitism attitude otherwise only a minority will enjoy this game!

I agree. The new changes are pretty harsh for new and lowbie players, and I would like to see some changes to aid them more so that they can enjoy the game at their pace.

we are getting sick at ppl QQing for no reason.

SOLO is not hard, it is different then before the patch. People are refusing to do things differently then at release through 1.18 and they are getting slaughtered.

All these people quitting because they cannot solo are pure stupid, mmo are not solo player games and the game still is very soloable in all aspects outside endgame and dungeons.

Sucks to see people leave but atm, so many ppl just are not good enough to play mmos I guess.

Atm I seen the following reason why people are quitting:

    1) It is impossible to solo now... if you read the forums there are tons of posts telling people how to do it now
    2) The game is too hard to figure out... seriously..... no comment. It can be figured out in about an hour or two.
    3) The game ruined all my gear pre-patch 12 months wasted.... you need to get materia anyways to not be gimp so you where going to turn it into materia to begin with.

In all 3 of these cases, the arguments in my mind are null and viod. People are just QQing over nothing. If they want to quit they can play a hand holding mmo ToR, Rift, and WoW is where those players truly belong.

Then please try to help people instead of tearing them down.

    1) Offer to party with them so that they don't have to solo.
    2) Answer any questions they may have. Some things that may seem like common sense to MMORPG veterans (especially FFXI veterans) may not be to someone else.
    3) Is nice to know, but is a huge hindrance to players (especially new ones) who are trying to get into the game now.

A great gaming community doesn't appear out of thin air - you have to make it happen. Talk to people, help them, and everybody benefits, especially when they pay it forward.

This is true and what I have been doing has 2 days now with over 3 full partys of leveling. From what I seen in Uldah with shouts most people asking for assistance are getting it at least in NA prime.

Those people are not the ones I am getting angry about, it is the people who log on play for 10 mins flip out because things are different then come on here and QQ about nothing.

I understand both sides here. I enjoy games that are extremely, and sometimes overly, difficult. I enjoyed FFXI in its early stages and quit only about six months after Wings of the Goddess to try other games. XIV has simplified things in a ton of areas, when you take into account this is the same company that was responsible for XI...a game that felt the need to kick you every time it had the chance. But you had to be willing to try and fight for your accomplishments...even if it meant adjusting your play style and possibly your definition of fun.

This game is not simple to understand. I think most everyone that does understand it is from XI or from some other older more archaic game. While it would be nicer to see a reply such as "I understand your frustration with X part of the game. Try X solution...myself and others have found this helpful." - you will be hard pressed to find that OP :\ You'll find it from those who remember that gaining and keeping members of communities is important to a server/game.

Most everyone else will just say "gtfo if its too hard, go play a more streamlined game." Its easy to say that..but if these same people were 'paying' for this game right now, they'd be frustrated and ranting too.

I agree OP, these people will be the demise of XIV.

edit: OP (and anyone else) if you're looking for a forum community without white knights, "shut up QQers," etc, I should suggest reading the FFXIV section of bluegartr.com. You might find their community more helpful and less frustrating.

I spent a good chunk of my day powerleveling a party of newbies. Seven people under rank 30, five ranks or more for everybody!

    I'm helpful! :U

So strange that I hear so many people mention to new/casual players to get materia. So far materia is a pretty hefty investment as far as money or time skilling crafting and gathering to be able to do it yourself. Yeah new player go rank Botanist to 18. Weaver to 18. Fight enemies to gain spiritbond to your current gear, convert your gear to materia buy/craft new gear to attach the materia to, just so you can rank up a few levels then you need new gear and repeat the process. If gaining xp solo really requires this lengthy process I don't think their business model will be too profitable.

I've seen very little people offer any constructive help.

I've seen people say it's difficult to solo and the responses are one of these:

    "Learn2Play"
"It's hard now and I love it, go back to WoW"
"It's so easy I went from 1-40 in 4 hours"
    "JUST ADAPT OR GTFO"

    Edit: I forgot...

"Just get a level 50 to powerlevel you"
"Get a group, who cares that you're only level 4"
"Just fight mobs 10 levels lower than you for 63sp a kill"
    and
"Stick your D*** in the pencil sharpener for 2 more weeks until crafted gear is more widespread"(which ironically is the most helpful of all those!)

The thing is people are giving advice and explaining why a lot of the whining is due to a lack of understanding rather than some problem with the game, and they just completely ignore it and (I wish I was joking) accuse those people of LYING and then keep on crying like infants.

It takes two, and one is busy bawling in the corner.

Every time I visit the lodestone forums now I wind up thinking of the sound of a toddler throwing a tantrum.
