Nobody's better or worse unless they willfully don't do the things they obviously should. Adding up 100~ potency per target on 3+ mobs and comparing it to your average potency in your single target rotation isn't rocket science.Oh hey look it's the "I'm better than the random people I get matched with in DF" thread again.
Seriously, you'll never get people who play as you do, there is always going to be better or worse, that's how it goes. If you really think this game suffers from people being more on the bad side I invite some of you to play actual skill based games outside of this PvE faceroll mess. Try playing Overwatch and watching your entire team pick someone just because they look cool and not knowing how to play at all. Or try Halo 5 and go into Warzone and spend 5 minutes watching 5 out of 12 teammates you have drive around aimlessly and not get past the first stronghold.

There is no need for penalties. The only system needed in the game is matchmaking based on the player's performance.
Match players who perform above 100% (100% being the average performance) with those who do the same.
Match players who do average with others who do average.
Match players who underperform with others who underperform.
The best way to stop carrying is to put people who want to be carried in one group.![]()

Lol OP, get back to me when so much of the content for the spectacular tome grind is not mindnumbingly boring. In the meantime I will keep watching tv and talking on the phone and eat whilst you carry my half afk self. xoxo
There are going to be better or worse people you can go out into the world and see this, not everyone is of the same level, knowledge, or capacity, I literally just pointed that out in my initial post about the people in Halo and Overwatch I've encountered. YOU might know something is logical but OTHERS don't, for instance a MNK or DRG not using AoE is likely because the classes aren't exactly built for AoE, so player A might forgo AoE because they see more use in single target, where as Player B might be the opposite. This game doesn't do a good job at all at introducing new skills when you unlock them and unless someone actually take the time out and put themselves into situations where they want to test those new skills, chances are likely that everyone isnt going to do that. But continue to do what they do.

There's some extreme irony in saying this isn't a game that's hard, like overwatch etc, and then saying it's too hard to figure out when aoe skills are good. Either the game is easy or it isn't, pick a side (hint: it's easy).

As you've probably noticed by the responses you are getting the official forums really isn't the place for this kind of post. This community will defend leeches in order to satisfy their strange fetish for being perceived as the nicest person in the room. How dare you suggest people put the smallest amount of effort you dirty elitist! Go back to WoW!
Pats on the back for everyone!

Sorry to chime back in but i had another thought, the irony here is the point has been made that laziness n carriying is the problem...right? Well I don't know how your PF looks but people be mad selling runs on all sorts of content all the time. Now I've never joined one of these groups, but we the players have made our own bed to lay in. So we hate carrying till it puts gil in our pockets. 4.0 fishnets n 9inch heel glamour here we come.. ya hussie's...XD
This game is easy, but the way it puts forth information and the lack of training isn't the ideal way and thus makes things harder and leads to more lesser knowledgeable players. You main Nin right? Well do you know how many people who main that same class don't know Suiton gives you the ability to use Sneak or Trick attack, because it's not stated anywhere other than that little icon that shows up.
The point I'm making and you keep ignoring is not every player is going to be as skilled or knowledgeable when it comes to the what's and when's of this game, or any game for that matter. But continue to ignore the fact I'm putting forth, because it makes you look like those DPS who don't AoE.

Pretty sure I've never seen people buy dungeon wins.Sorry to chime back in but i had another thought, the irony here is the point has been made that laziness n carriying is the problem...right? Debating something and disagreeing with you is not "ignoring something". I've pointed out the fact that potency #s are listed on all job abilities, and you learn on Sesame Street how to figure out which adds up to a higher total. Beyond that saying I'm ignoring you based on what I've said means you don't understand how a debate even works, or are just trolling. I'll just consider myself trolled then. This game is easy, but the way it puts forth information and the lack of training isn't the ideal way and thus makes things harder and leads to more lesser knowledgeable players.
