I did leveling roulette with a full party (FC mates) last week and got Stone Vigil. We downed it in 20 min and went on to knock out other roulettes.

I got Stone Vigil yesterday morning for mentor roulette. I was on SCH. I was going absolute max, roused fairy, adlo on tank, full dps, stoneskin between pulls. And the dps was incredibly bad. And the tank pulled everything. It was just painfully slow. Finally after 45 minutes I embraced the exit and left.

With a good party, a full clear is fine. But with a DF party, when everything is taking forever to die, no thank you.

Id rather be out 5-10 mins faster and waiting for the next dungeon queue.

It seems to be that not everyone wants to do a full clear because most of the time these people are there for their roulette and want to get out quickly. The reasons why they do vary though, some want to do it before work / classes. Some just want to grab stuff and get out but have all day to do it. There are others who have family..I've gone to see a few friends early weekends and then mid-play through they hear their baby waking up crying and throw me the controller. The power of a toddler!

I think you do deserve to have a full clear, but there's no real incentive to do it most of the time outside of the experience. That's my personal opinion. There's nothing that spawns or no extra chest for items if you clear the whole thing. These earlier dungeons have off routes or extra places to explore but no one does because there's nothing that comes of it. People, to some extent, will take the easiest way out of most things. This I think relates more to how gear is applied to the game, there's nothing special about it that makes you want to go back and farm it..but that's an entirely different conversation and debate that I will never win.

You could make some sort of bonus like lore, a chest with materia equal to the iLV of that dungeon..then you make it something that full-clear gets the majority and is expected..that causes a fuss for those who don't. It's a balance that no one will win at, there will always be a group (big or small) that will be against it. I don't think there's a solution other than asking for a clear and seeing what comes up. Some say no, some say sure.

Several roulettes give the most tomestones if you run them as a lv.60, meaning there is no need for the exp or gear.

Might have to die with the coffers that have mobs guarding them, but popping them and trying to outrun them can be fun in itself
You mean, run in and then drag an extra mob or 2 back to me (the tank). Yes... we love that... :P

As for the OP, you will definitely run into situations where they don't want full clear, but always ask. You "should" run into plenty that will run a full clear for you as well. The only times I refuse is if I actually am on a time schedule and don't think I'll be able to cut a full clear in time. Some dungeons differ greatly in the amount of a time a full clear takes compared to a quick run. Unfortunately, many are just... well lazy. But I have on many occasions asked and only once have I been denied. And that one time, I may or may not of "accidentally" pulled some side mobs ;D (but also, the tank didn't pick them up off me, but i survived :P)

    Hope you find better tanks!

if you want to grind dungeons for exp, and go for full clears, make a party to do so and queue as 4/4. If its the DF, i'm likely paired with you for a roulette, and i want to get in and out ASAP for the bonus exp at end (and tomes if on my 60) as that is the only reason I will be there.

She was referring to scavenging the dungeon after it's been cleared, and everyone else has left. Often times a skipped chest is guarded by enemies, so you'll end up dead after popping it.

On the subject of a non-tank pulling extra mobs on their own, I had a situation like that in leveling roulette last week. Tanking a Stone Vigil, the MCH had been afk for at least a minute while the other 3 of us passed the mobs guarding first chest. While we're fighting the next pack, he calls out "pulled" and drags those 3 mobs to us. After all six of the mobs were dead, I left the duty. I'm not doing a 40 minute full clear for someone who AFKs without saying anything or pulls on their own, let alone both.

I never understood why people don't do this as dungeon grinding can have better exp per hour than fates + gear rewards.
