Gardening Nerf?

So my fc has noted some oddness regarding the cross-breeding. We've been using the Grade 3 Thanalan soil but this patch we've gotten less seeds when crossbreeding Jute. In fact we haven't changed anything, yet we're getting a fraction of the seeds we used to.

Has anyone else noticed this? Was their a ninja nerf?

I've only ever gotten one seed per plant, so 8 total in a deluxe.

I had another crop that only yielded 7 seeds total (wasn't jute, I forget what it was) but I can't say I've ever gotten multiple seeds from harvesting.

I did Jute with Krakka as that was listed as a good cross for king tomato, but got no crosses off that. Crossing jute with mandrake appears to be providing the usual good chances at gaining jute, but you're still fighting rng and sometimes rng even on good crosses can give you a swift kick.

We're doing the same crosses, same soil in the deluxe plot as we've always done. Normally we'd get 7-8 seeds, one from each plant. Since the last patch, our latest rotations have yielded two seeds from the entire deluxe bed.

OMG, less seeds yielded than what you started with? That's terrible! I have a jute patch going right now and I'll have to report back in a few days when it's ready. I always do Jute and Mandrake, which has always resulted in getting 7-8 Jute seeds back and 4 sprigs of Jute. I've thought about switching soils on the Jute so I get more Jute and hopefully just get the Jute seeds off the mandrake plots but now you have me worried.

Do you have someone new doing it? Are they planting them side by side or doing one plant at a time, like maybe corners first then in between?

I have been planting and harvesting since it was introduced and if anything I am getting better results now than I ever have.

Maybe throw a lala sacrifice or two at RNGesus?

I thought this was standard practice. In fact the scarecrow in the deluxe ones is just a result of Lala taxidermy gone horribly wrong.

As big as lala sacrifices are, I am surprised we haven't gotten an emote out of it yet lol

Lala sacrifice do not help, however the odd roe here or there helping tend from beneath the soil works wonders. ;D btw you don't get more jute regardless of the soil. It's one per even with grade 3 shroud soil.

Hmmm Roe doesn't seem like it would be too great, the salty sea air would make them a lil toxic to the soil.

Lala, on the other hand, if not working as sacrifices, you can always mulch with a sylph or two it really makes those plants grow! I prefer the 3 lala to 1 sylph ratio for most plants myself.

And the topic is seeds from crosses not the plant itself, although man would even 2 jute be a wonderful thing, they grow way to slow and you need way to many to make even 1 item.
