I don't mind it as long as SE tries to regulate the issue of there not being enough plots for players who've been looking to buy a personal house for a long time.
Which means they need to continue adding more available plots with each major update, which would be pretty nice.
Some might suggest that they add in more wards every update.I don't mind it as long as SE tries to regulate the issue of there not being enough plots for players who've been looking to buy a personal house for a long time.

Adding more wards doesn't solve the problem though. It's basically putting a band aid on a gun shot wound.
They added wards 2 weeks ago has the housing situation changed at all. Nope.
Did it change last time they added wards? Nope.
Next time? Unlikely.
It certainly changed the situation for those that managed to snag one of the plots.
It's flawed but by promising consistent additions of plots everyone that's got their eyes on one will eventually get theirs.
However, what I'd like them to change are things like scumba- I mean certain rich people hoarding plots by purchasing as many as they can simply by rushing into the server as soon as the maintenace downtime is over.
They should introduce something like people being able to reserve plots similar to how they're managing the Eternal Bond feature. As well as opening the option to reserve plots at a time that isn't directly after the maintenance.
Reserve Large plot - Cost + Additional cost in order to Reserve the plot / Waiting time: very long (6+ Months)
Reserve Medium plot - Cost + Additional cost / Waiting time: long (3+ Months)
etc. etc.
And no, by god no, I didn't mean any inclusion of the cash shop when talking about how SE handles Eternal Bonding, although, if a system like this was to happen it'd be very likely that SE would begin cashing out on us.
It got enough potential but they simply need to organize things different rather than slapping a few new housing areas onto the servers and calling it a day.
Just look at the housing costs for example; You can pay ~15 Million for a large plot if you buy them directly off of the NPC but if you were trying to buy said plot off from another play you could expect an estimate of a good 50 million Gil in order to have them give up the plot alone. It's inbalanced and in no way intuitive for the playerbase, most likely also the reason why SE decided to break down on players selling their plots to other players - all it boils down to is scamming yourself and others due to the scarcity of housing plots

Cont to my previous post:
Another issue this brings up is that it favors rich people - the richest.
I personally don't craft at all but if I save up the gil I gain from my retainers and selling off valueables I can save up an estimated 10 million gil on a month or so.
For full blown crafters that invested into their melds and got each of their jobs capped at 60 this may just as well be chump change. Most serious crafters make an easy 50 million gil by creating and selling off new recipes with each major update - if not more.
The gap is massive and the price SE originally set up the housing plots for seems fair to all kinds of players, instead the price is being pushed further and further up the roof by said rich people who dictate the entire market.
Usual scenario of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.
And before anyone brings up the whole "well just invest into your crafters and become rich yourself" business - not the point I'm trying to make nor discuss here.

I'm in favor of housing not becoming a legacy system, inaccessible to the bulk of the player base. There are only three things that do this in any substantial way: new wards, reclamation, and house selling.
You are merely being argumentative for the sake of being controversial or deriving amusement for trolling purposes. It's pretty laughable to claim to be in favor of housing not becoming a legacy system inaccessible to the bulk of the player base yet in the same breath be a supporter of a system which in large part prices out the bulk of the player base you supposedly want to see housing accessible to. The only substantial way of actually doing what you claim you wanna see would be to add more wards. Neither the reclamation system nor selling of houses will have as a substantial impact in allowing housing to be more accessible to all as more wards would, especially when a significant amount of houses being sold are houses that should have been on the market anyway and aren't because players wanted to make a profit.
What is a vegetable?
