For over two years Tanks have been honing the art of speed running: Locking mobs out at a boss line, sack-pulling to skip dozens of mobs in seconds, grouping trains of enemies together for AoE annihilation while invincible, ignoring as many mobs as possible. Speed-running becomes second nature and most early dungeons can be finished in half the time. Even people that desire exp appreciate a 15min Roulette compared to a 30min one. They still killed their bosses and got their massive bonuses.

Pack of mobs guarding a treasure chest with an Ether in it? Skip.
Mobs with a walking path that you can completely ignore? Skip.
Seedlings / Eggs about to hatch? No thanks.

Even if someone specifically tells me they'd like as much exp as possible (which has never happened) I would still be on the fence. The rest of the party would have to agree. Otherwise I would not slow the run down by 10-20 minutes for a single person. Especially if they want to pull every mob, in every room, in every dead end. And just as an example: You can run from the beginning of Aurum Vale straight into the boss room in 10 seconds. Healer raises the Tank that sack-pulled and you just skipped 5-10 minutes.

Well I was just responding to the dungeon in general. Now if you asked and they didn't listen that's one thing. I can't speak for the machinist, perhaps he or she didn't have the time and just wanted to get it done and the bonus was all they were interested in. I know personally when i run a leveling, I'm also running a trial, a 50, a 60, and expert as well for eso's and the faster I can get through a dungeon the better for me.

Incorrect, mobs are still the majority of your XP, and it's a good deal more xp to let them pop either way.

Yeah, from my personal experience with some dungeons I can go and run it 4 times full clear and get the 3 levels needed to move onto the next leveling dungeon pre-50. While speed clears result in me needing to run the dungeon upwards of 6-8 times.

When leveling a DPS I ask for full clears. Full stop. I often times have to wait between 20-30+ minutes to even GET a run. Spending some extra time in the dungeon getting as much exp out of it I can is worth the extra 5-10 min in the dungeon itself. When leveling a tank I do semi full clears unless full clear is requested (locked room with only 1 mob inside and a crafting related item inside? Fuck that, especially Dezemael Darkhold). I do not care as much on healer cause I still get fast ques.

AV is an ugly 1.0 dumpster fire of a dungeon that nobody wants to be in.

Anyone who says otherwise is a case study in that unique form of Stockholm Syndrome specific to certain kinds of MMORPG players.

What INFURIATES (teehee, WAR pun) me is that they will kill the fruits that are directly in my Overpower path while fighting a Gold Vine. They do realize that the seedlings will die before the Gold Vine does, right? *shakes my head*

And when I have a 60 DRK that I'll do roulettes with if I don't feel like waiting for que. When I land in a pre-50 dungeon and see someone whose still leveling, I ask them if they want to run a full run out of courtesy because I know those pains of waiting for ques as DPS.

Actually, AV is extremely easy for anyone whose done it enough times. The only people who really complain about it in my experience are people who suck at spatial awareness and have low attention spans which cause them to get killed when they don't follow mechanics. It's no more worse than any other dungeon that requires people to pay the tiniest modicum of attention.

    Pick one.

    But, I'll elaborate.

Aurum Vale is a cakewalk for a group that know it, but the problem is, many groups include new players that not only are unfamiliar with it, but are having now to deal with issues that will occur in zero four-player dungeons to come, because SE realized that anything other than straightforward encounters in such content is a recipe for disaster when you have clueless new players and frequently uncommunicative veteran players.

The issue is actually made worse by the fact that some consider AV to be a good source of experience, leading to conflicts between those who want to stay and those who want to be rid of it.

Ironically, the bosses in it are perfectly fine, even somewhat fun. Everything else is a mess of poor footing, cramped camera space, multiple environmental hazards, patrolling mobs, respawning mobs, etc. It is, in pure design terms, a case study in ways to cause problems in random groups of players, which is anathema to this style of game, which strives to ensure that leveling content is accessible, easily communicable, and most importantly, gives all participants the exact same goal.

If you want to farm experience in AV, that's what party finder is for. If you get it via DF, do not expect anyone to want to stick around.

No matter the dungeon, my desire is the same: to get the hell out of there as soon as possible.

My issue with it is that a lot of tanks go around popping them alll... and then promptly die after overloading the healer.
