Alchemist, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Goldsmith, and Armorsmith make them as well, but weaver and leatherworker are the most popular prisms. They just require a clear prism that you buy for like 200g and two class specific items.
Yes, you can do the initial glamour-crafting quest as any 50 crafter, since it's just limited to DoH. Unfortunately, it's not enough to bring other crafters to 30 =/ Despite being level 30 recipes, you need the crafter at 50 to be able to read the relevant book -_- Apparently crafters don't know how to read until then. Learned that myself the hard way and had to lug around with three books in my inventory until I levelled up those crafters.

As for levelling, Ixali beast tribes makes it a lot faster to level to 50, since you get all those quest exp on crafting classes. Leves are good too, but some are more costly than it's worth. Same with Grand Company hand-ins -- personally I bought stuff off the market board when they were cheap, but if money is an issue for you, it'd probably be better to craft them (unless you really find them dirt cheap, like 500gil or something -- sometimes you're lucky and get unwanted items). I'd advise you to pick up all crafting classes and check the GC handin list daily -- if one of them has a star in front, it means you get twice the normal exp for handing in that item. And if you hand in a high-quality item, the listed exp number is doubled.

XIV Guild has pretty good crafting levelling guides that could help you level crafters, here's the link to leatherworker as an example, but at the top there's a dropdown list for crafting so you can pick the crafting profession you're most interested in.

It can be tricky to grind money before you figure out what works for you. I wish you the best of luck, OP =D

FCs can keep all the bells and whistles that come with a guild home.

I think people just want a big space to customise to their heart's content... That is what player housing is in other MMOs

Having to pay millions in order to do this is not a fair system, when it was meant to be a cost shared by your FC...

LOL man I laugh when I see 3 mill or something like that is cheap. It may be for the 90% of players out there but I still see it as ALOT of money. The problem is that everything cost over 3 freaking mill cause everyone has stacks on top of stacks of freaking money. There's more gill out there then items and everything. So to make sense of it, things get pricey cause everyone is rich. I'm like the brokest person ingame LOL. 3k gil

Apartments when SE introduces them will be the equivalent of FFXI mog houses and SE said they want those to be accessible to everyone who wants one unlike the current case with ward plots.

Not known yet but won't be very expensive, a fraction of the cost of a house is certain. Probably around same price as renting an FC room is what I think might be but cannot say for sure.

If you think that the initial cost of a housing plot is expensive then you have no business buying one in the first place. Wait till you go to decorate it! I have more Gils worth of furnishings than the plot and house cost. Houses are a crafter's endgame IMO.

Costs barely any gil to furnish mine, I gather and craft everything myself. There are exceptions however on things like NPC only items or things like the house permit itself but other than those the only really big cost is time not gil. But you are right in one regard and that is if you buy all your furniture etc it is much more expensive than buying the house itself.

If you are crafting you won't be buying your furniture, and that leads me to the main reason I'm laughing at the original question. If you are crafting then the cost of housing isn't expensive at all. See my point? That sale amount on the board out front is merely a toll.

Look, I don't want to discourage anyone from home ownership. It truly is fun but people need to be aware what the costs are. When you go strolling through some of the wards and oogle over some of the furnishings you need to realize that most of the really cool stuff is either hard to get or expensive to buy. My house, my wife's house, and my sisters house have all been cheap to furnish because I'm doing all the crafting for it. We've tried out certain things that we didn't like and ended up selling those things on the MB for ridiculous amounts of gil (obviously didn't do the final placing) and the only players I can see that would pay that amount of gil are non-crafters. 300k for a planter? 1.5 mil for an ice chandelier? Good lord! Don't even get me started on a simple thing like a mailbox. These are things to be considered.
