If you don't know what you want how do you expect them to know what you want? People here can't even define what they mean by "more interesting stats", I'm not asking you to do their job, I'm asking you to be less vague in saying what you want.I'd love to do their work for them but you know I'm not getting paid to do it I pay them to. Neither am I creative enough or have I chosen to go into a creative field of work xD
This is like saying every suggestion has to be conceptualised in full so SE can just copy it and put it into the game.
There has been multiple great suggestions on how this can work in this massive thread - http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...killed-players
How about you go over them instead of insisting that no-one has suggested anything?
Things like -
%chance to restore 200 TP upon [physical damage AoE skill] use
Healing potency increased if motionless for 5 seconds
Movement speed increased by 15%
Immune to knockback (CD 20 seconds)
etc.
Would make things pretty neat imo and this is coming from someone who was being really pig headed about "not wanting changes" lol

Considering that they could completely remove stats from our gear and it would make very little difference... pretty much anything that isn't what we have now.
Some things would make a difference, speaking for myself as one who mains BRD it has always struck me as odd that piety isn't included on our gear, but you go to do the current relic quest and parry is? It's head scratching things such as that make me wonder if the dev team even has a clue what they want. If I had that extra mp I could play the songs of my people longer, thus providing a much better debuff or regeneration.
Now you could even go as far to say that adding new stats to the game could help tremendously, such as tp/mp restoration on hit, faster hp regeneration in combat, or a cleave/pierce stat.
I mean we already have mp/tp/hp regen. So it wouldn't hurt for them to expand on it. And it's not like it would bring imbalances to the game given SE wouldn't make the stats give you unlimited resources. And if they added a cleave or piercing stat it would add another aspect to dps. Making DRG/BRD/BLM/SMN/MCH/AST/WHM/SCH have a pierce through effect would make the combat feel more alive as would adding cleave on NIN/MNK/PLD/WAR/DRK. All they would have to do is give it a rate like Crit and make sure the bleed through damage isn't completely as potent as the initial hit and make them pop on non aoe skills.

I remember my first run through 1-60 and thinking the same. The only thing I needed to know was my main stat and I never saw a reason to meld anything since I was going to get better gear as I unlocked more dungeons. Then when I hit ilvl220-230 and first attempted melding, "i guess i'll just meld more strength an- oh nevermind."
then I learned melding is really pointless unless you want to do Savage, which for me is too time consuming for the rewards, but thats a different topic. As a DRG main, after mastering my rotations, my stats dont make a significant difference.
