If XI was anything to go by when Abyssea came out, many people were rushed from level 30-99 in a few hours and you know what happened....
THEY HAD NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY THEIR JOB. They couldnt tell the pointy end of a sword from a whole in the ground...

I really dont want to see that happen here. It would be catastrophic on our already somewhat toxic community towards new players.

The China Cash shop uses Coupons as its currency (like how the NA cash shop uses Crysta) I'm not sure how much it costs per Coupon however since I would need to make an account on Shanda Games site in order to find out.

We can probably make comparison - their fantasia is 7000 coupons, and the upgrade package for each class is 8800 coupons, sort of the pricing structure.

I heard it is 1 yuan per 100 coupon but don't quote me for that XD!

Does it automatically unlock all encounters as well, like Steps of Faith, all the lvl 50 dungeons linked to the story, and all the trials? If so thats not really fair. People would unlock their roulettes even though its really their first time doing the dungeon/ trial.

SEriously, I will never understand the Chinese/Korean mindset. If you want to be competitive in a game, that's fine, I'm competitive myself.. But a game should never become a "I pay more I pwn you" mindset.... Skill, knowledge, experience, team play, alertness, reflexes... Those shall always be the ultimate values of gaming, never your real life monneys... We already live in a damn neo-liberalism world where we only matter by how much wealth we got... At least keep that fact away from our fantasy, from our games.

Chinese mindset isn't so much competitive, as it is they want to get to the "meat" of a game in as little time as possible. If you are under 18 you have to log into the internet with your government ID, after which your time online is monitored.

As of 2008, China has declared internet addiction as a mental illness and has setup rehab facilities across the country to "cure" people addicted to the internet. In reality they are more like juvenile detention centers, and just about every year you hear stories of kids dying there.

So yea, if you only had a limited time to play everyday, that was enforced by possibility of incarceration with a possibility you'd die. I'm sure you'd want to skip as much of the "fluff" as possible.


Western mentality is much different, people just want the "skip" button so they don't have to work towards a goal, just get to endgame, not know what they're doing, leave 2 weeks later, and rant about how terrible the game is.
