Question to those who went to the fanfest last time

I got a question concerning people who went to the fanfest last time. Around what time does the event start or end?I know the event is only on friday and saturday but I kind of want to know what time is the fest over. I am planning on flying in on thursday and check out of hotel saturday morning and depend on what time the fest is over, fly out on late saturday night or early sunday morning.

Its an all day event, so if you plan on flying out on saturday, its going to be a midnight or later flight

From experience (I went to the one in 2014):

If you want to make the most of your day, you will definitely want to fly out the day BEFORE the event starts so you can stand in the long lines getting your tickets before the doors open. This year, they will not be having VIP tickets (according to their site) so there will be no way to just pay extra money to skip the lines.

Last time, doors opened at 9am on Saturday and 10am on Sunday (with the VIP people being allowed to enter 30mins early). The doors closed on Saturday and Sunday night at 10pm. It was an all day event. Panels and other main stage events were scattered throughout the con, and you were free to meander around the floor to attempt different trials as you pleased.

If money is not an obstacle for you, I would aim to arrive on Thursday and leave Sunday... if you really want to soak in all of it.

Friday: Pre-Reg + Reception Event (actual con doors were not open at all -- just some event in the hotel courtyard)
Saturday: All day
Sunday: All day

This time (2016):

Friday: All day
Saturday: All day

Registration lines are usually moving before the doors even open, so even if they don't add a dedicated day for pre-registration, it would be really hard to get to your hotel, settle in, and be ready to walk in by 9am that day.

(Edited my previous post to account for leaving on Sunday instead of Monday, since now it's Friday/Saturday and not Saturday/Sunday.)

on the website it states that pre-registration will be on Thursday, but there is no other event planned for that day (i.e. no reception...which makes me really sad)
