Sounds like you need to find a better FC. The drop rate for the Iron Spoils is pretty high and we were able to get everyone in our FC who wanted one in a pretty short amount of time.I'd rather it be in the cash shop vs. having them to do something like the Zu mount again - i.e. only available to FC leaders/officers via airships who then put them up for sale for millions upon millions of gil. It took months for those to come down to a reasonable price.
Maybe I do. Unfortunately, I've never been in an FC that does anything nice/free for it's members - and I've been playing for 2.5 years, spanning over 4 servers.

FC leader here-- The airships are not push button receive happy fun stuff. They are a complete pain. I have spent likely over 10 mil on them (probably more, realistically, not going to bother doing an accurate count on it), remembering to constantly go back and check them, making sure I have the repair materials, looking into the airship guides and whatnot and to be honest I do not think I still have made the money back that I put into them. They are a lot of work and what I think is one of the most annoying parts of being a FC leader, but no one else wants the pain of managing them.
I kept the first Zu mount for myself, but decided to host giveaways for the others that we get.
Even if I sold them I would not make the money back that I put into it. I kind of gave up with ever profiting from the airships. I maybe got 5m back from random mats I got but really who is counting at this point. Eventually I will break even but I do not see an end in sight.
From my experience with FC's (see my above post about how long I've been playing and on various servers), is that the FC leaders always seem to want someone else to do the work for them for nothing. Maybe I am choosing the wrong FC's, but I've been in a lot - and they're all the same. FC leader/officers take the company credits generated by the members, send out the ships, get the goods, sell them, pocket the funds. Nothing goes back to the FC or the members that got those credits to begin with.
One FC I was in, the leader literally took crafted items that crafters in the FC would make to send the airships out. They would bring items back and said "leader" would then charge those same crafters gil for the items, and pocket the gil.
Another one I was in was charging "raffle" fees of 150,000 per member, per raffle (one or two raffles a week) for Zu mounts to buy an imaginary raffle ticket. The leader would then (supposedly) enter your name into some random website and allow the website to pick the winner. All of that gil went God-knows-where.
