I really, really hope they implement a way of reporting abusive mentors like this. It undermines the whole intent because a good portion of people just want the accolade.

I'd say just report them for harassment, and mention they were wering their mentor crown.
If they're sporting the crown they should be held to a higher standard.

In Brayflox Longstop. I was SMN and my mate was DRG. We had WHM and GLA with us. Everyone did good, except the tank. He didn't use flash the way he should, instead of pulling the enemies and using flash x3, then hit, he flashed the air and then charged the enemies. Also, he never used flash again.
He ran around pulling too many enemies . So we tried telling him politely what he could do to make it easier for all of us. But no response, we tried again with auto-translate and emotes - nothing. It seemed like he wasn't there.

In the end we had to switch roles. The DRG tanked & I healed the healer. The healer had no mana and had to dps... The only way we could win the dungeon, was to let the GLA die.....
Tank could've been a bot, but he moved blissfully ignorant. Didn't know where to go, left us and came back when the healer went afk. Or maybe he just did his thing, without paying attention to the chat. Nevertheless, we ended up succeeding.

I would have suggested trying to tank with Titan-egi.
Typically you don't use him in dungeons, but that sounds like one situation that calls for it.

The day before yesterday I played as a Scholar for the first time since Heavensward was released. I had agreed to help out an FC friend with leveling in a dungeon. Thanks to a bit of practice and reading through how Scholar's abilities worked, I had actually done pretty well. Then the final boss came.

This was Dzemael Darkhold's final boss and I was able to keep the party alive until it started summoning dark pools over the floor. I started healing like crazy because everyone was taking huge amounts of damage from the boss flailing about. The Ninja in my party died an instant death from one of the bosses bserker arm flailing moments, but it was right before the boss died and we won, so it was all good!

Though the Ninja got mad that he died and complained I should have been healing him and I could have sworn I had been. When I left and asked my FC friend and another FC friend that was DPSing with us, they told me I was healing him. So we laughed about it and went our seperate ways for the night as it was late.

Oh! Also a few months ago while tanking in Neverreap as a DRK, we made it to the final boss with no problems, but then wiped three times in a row. I don't really remember why we kept wiping, but the first time was my bad because I was like "this is gonna be an easy run! >: D" then while trodding over to take down one of the wind sprites hanging near the edge of the stage, I take one step too many and go flying out the arena! XD It was so funny, but this marked a chain of unfortunate wipes until we finally beat the boss on the fourth try. :'3

I felt pretty bad because our first healer had to leave because it was so late, but at least we scraped through with our second healer though. I hope our first healer was able to clear it later though.

That was the worst final boss fight I had ever been in Neverreap and I had been scared to go near the edge of stage as a tank for at least a week. But the memory of myself falling off the stage is still hilarious though. XD

Sounds to me like you got a NIN who thought he could ignore mechanics and let the healer sort it out.

Met a BLM in the Wiping City whose rotation was Fire III -> Fire III -> Fire III -> Blizzard III -> Fire III -> Blizzard III -> Fire. Even worse, this "rotation" was enough for them to out-dps a dragoon...

Wiping City, final boss.

4 party members dead in the alliance, 2 on critical health, only tank and 1 healer healthy.

Monk proceeds to steal LB3 from the healer who is trying to use the LB3 to revive and heal the party.

Because the boss is on 6% HP.

We were lucky the rest of the alliances were still intact enough to finish the boss off instead of us wiping.

This wasn't a terrible experience, but figured I'd share:

I wanted to beat Nidhogg yesterday so that I could finish the Heavensward story. First group was okay but the party couldn't survive the first Ahk Morn (however it is spelled). They vote abandoned after two tries.

I queue again and we have a completely new person (I hadn't completed it yet but I'd gotten to last phase without much issue). One tank is explaining the mechanics when the other tank decides to cut in with a sarcastic comment when explaining the add phase. The tank explaining the fight leaves because it seemed fairly obvious the other tank was looking to stir up trouble for no reason. We can't get past add phase. Another abandon.

Third time in, we have the same tank causing unnecessary friction as last time. Adds are all over the place during add phase and we wipe. Rude tank starts calling the other tank a moron/idiot/you-name-it for trying to separate the adds, and won't let it go. The second tank won't stop complaining about them. Rude tank starts a macro saying they will pull boss in 10 secs then doesn't, Astro hits the boss, fight starts and both tanks in sword oath. We wipe. They start arguing again. Our party ended up kicking both of them because they just wouldn't let it go. FINALLY after we replenish our ranks we take down Nidhogg without a problem.

I was just recently kicked from a party on wiping city.

The healer was dieing always, the only one on the party, and I asked him only to focus little more, given that he is important on the 2nd more.
He told me to shut up.

We had no wipes, was a good alliance so far and when we reached to Ozma I was kicked.

I really dont understand the mentaly of the people, the healer that cany tolerate that someone ask a minot thing and the party that seems to agree with him beacuse well, it requires a mayority to be dismissed.

Oh well.. to wait another half hour again and I hope to get an alliance as good as that one.

I had a decent run in Mhach. I went in first thing Tuesday cause I figured that would be the best time. The run was smooth with only a couple of issues. During the first boss, I couldn't pick up the orbs during the second web. I had no problem the first time, but they just went through me the second time. And one of the healers got a pair of gloves and just bailed. Part of the reason I thought early Tuesday was a good time was because everyone would still need clears and not leave after getting loot. And we wiped during the second boss because they tanked the dog with the ass facing the raid. And there weren't enough people to get on the lasers and we just never recovered. After that though it was so smooth. The meteors were placed perfectly. Someone kept springing the hair jails, but they were broken out pretty fast and it never went off. And everyone's overall attitude was a vast improvement over last week.
