Just out of curiosity, did anyone check to make sure she knew the mechanic?I did a Fractal Continuum run a few nights ago where, on the last boss, the healer refused to cleanse the bomb off of us, so me (monk) and the tank were just knocking each other around with every tick. Eventually, I got knocked into a mine, on a blue panel, and died instantly. Healer says, "plz don't run over the mines and do your job." I just responded, "gurl" and she went -____-;;.
I like how you quoted me and ignored the key phrase, "unless they do something wrong."
If the healer is not DPSing and they're at their computer, and if nobody is making any mistakes, then nobody should be dying. Especially in a dungeon. My point for bringing up DPSing is that I can understand if someone gets caught in Cleric Stance and aren't able to get out in time, but if you're literally just standing there and somebody dies to unavoidable DoT damage over 10 seconds, it's your fault. Nothing silly about it unless you can't fathom that. In fact, she was explaining mechanics to the tank, who was new... so there was absolutely no reason for what she did, either.

I agree.. but you made a blunt statement that made no difference between mistakes.. even if mistakes happen in DPS sides too...so if anyone dies is not necesseraly the fault of the healer unlike what you suggested.I like how you quoted me and ignored the key phrase, "unless they do something wrong."

Sohr Khai with bonus, the WHM claims it's their first time - I take this as a "please tell me what I need to know", so after the last trash before the first boss I stop to say something about the mechanics (okay, they're actually more interesting for a DPS, but still), and the tank just runs through and pulls. ;_;
Little time before the last trash before the second boss dies, I write "so, for this boss...", hoping that the tank won't immediately pull so I can explain stuff. No, they pull while I'm explaining... I say "God just let me explain ;_;", WHM screws up, then the tank stops doing anything to... tell the WHM what to do. Facepalm of doom and destruction. Then the tank screws up, everyone dies except the tank who popped Living Dead just in time, then they kill the boss with one second left on their Walking Dead clock LOL.
At the final boss, I take the time the WHM needs to watch the cutscene to explain the boss, and even after they join us, the tank doesn't move before I finish my stuff with a sarcastic "thanks for waiting this time". Why not earlier ;_;
If nobody is taking unnecessary damage and my health drops to zero after I use Second Wind and Bloodbath, and if the healer is in full control of their character, that's literally the healer's fault. I get that healers get blamed for a lot of dumb things - I have two at max level and am in the process of leveling a third. However, in my specific scenario of nobody taking avoidable damage, and barring extraneous circumstances (like lag or a tank who pulls far too much), if somebody dies, that's actually the healer's fault.
I'm not saying it's always their fault. I'm saying in my scenarios, I died because of the inaction of healers. I don't get mad about this stuff in situations where I can tell the healer is learning or stressed out. I get a bit upset when a healer who has an anima weapon and is explaining boss fights... is not dispelling the most crucial debuff in the dungeon.

This. I have every healer job at 60, and finished all their job quests, unlocked all their skills. I'm sick of poor healers being coddled. My definition of slacking off as a healer is "not-DPSing", but if I'm not DPSing, you can bet that I am paying attention and doing my best to heal and clean debuffs as necessary.I'm not saying it's always their fault. Even when I'm playing a tank or DPS, I try to pay attention to what others are doing. If something is a DPS or tank's fault, I know. If I'm calling out the healer for poor healing, it's based on proper observations from me, not a knee-jerk reaction. Too many people are just too willing to let poor healing slide and then blame the DPS when the healer can't keep up, in situations where a competent healer would be able to keep up.
Now, have I, as a healer, been unfairly blamed for wipes and deaths before, when it was the fault of the tanks/DPS? Yes. Have I caused deaths and wipes before, due to poor healing? Also yes. Unfortunately, most healers can't tell the difference between when it's their responsibility and when it's not, and so they make no effort to ever improve, thinking everyone is just unfairly prejudiced against them.

Well said. You put that a lot more eloquently than I. That's pretty much the point I'm trying to make.

I wonder if that might be because the forums make it out that we're DPS with a slight healing/support focus?Unfortunately, most healers can't tell the difference between when it's their responsibility and when it's not
Tank sprints to the first mob, says nothing, then say "ummm nvm", and leaves the dungeon.
Tank joins and see one person is new to the place and say "I don't have time for this s***" and leaves the dungeon
Tank see they are in the Vault for roulette and leaves the dungeon.
I just say "hi" and the Tank leaves the dungeon.
Tank complains that a new player does not know how to perform boss mechanic and complain the new player did not watch a video or read a guide before entering the dungeon and then leaves the dungeon.
Tank complains that I am playing as a Dragoon when the dungeon begins, going on and on about how Dragoon s*** as we progress through the dungeon, blames everything he does wrong on me because I am a Dragoon, then tells me that I should be playing a Monk because they're the best melee DPS while saying "Everyone knows Dragoons suck. Why do you think people say 'LOL Dragoon'?", then say that he know how to be a real pro-player in FF14, and then the entire group kick the tank because he was being a a****** to me for being a Dragoon.
