People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
The saddest person in all this is actually the one who made this mount at Square Enix.
That poor human being will likely die of old age before s/he can even see his/her work used by players ingame.
I think a lot of people are missing the point of this mount. They threw a really nice mount as a carrot on a stick to get more people to do mentor roulette, and to do it more than once per day. Mentor roulette is not just about mentoring. It's also about filling slots in queues.
Go queue for an Ex trial and let me know how long you wait. I just did it the other day. Was waiting hours.

There's a difference between this:I think a lot of people are missing the point of this mount. They threw a really nice mount as a carrot on a stick to get more people to do mentor roulette, and to do it more than once per day. Mentor roulette is not just about mentoring. It's also about filling slots in queues.

You're not supposed to realistically be able to reach a carrot on a stick. If they put it too close people would actually reach it.
Horse or not it wont change what already is. Mentors are already around for the title and the roulette.the horse is not the scapegoat of this. There will be sti mentors being some because of the title and so. Does horse make it worse? No...ut is just the only way to get the horse that makes it the problem just put the horse up for another roulette and probleme solved that is for what all should fight not for the lenght of time it requires to get the horse dont you think?
You're... kind of missing the point. The point isn't, "I'm a good mentor, and by the time I get my 2000 roulettes it's not even certain the game will be up anymore." The point is, "People who are not good mentors will do this only to get the mount, not caring who they screw over in the process." By adding an attractive reward behind such a large amount of Mentor roulettes, they're increasing the risk for new people to run into those craptastic would-be-Mentors who couldn't care less about actually mentoring, who just want to get to the end as quickly as possible in order to get another tally to their roulette count. Basically, it'll increase the whole "speedrun or screw you" mentality. Some of you became mentors because they want to help others, what does it matter to you if a reward takes years or minutes to be achieved? I mean seriously, you all sound jealous of something that, in truth, has little importance in the game itself and shouldn‘t even impact you as that is not why you are a Mentor, or am I mistaken ?
Question... Would it be better to wait longer to get in, or to wait a fair amount of time to get in, only to have "Mentors" dropping out the moment they realize they're in an Ex Primal that presumably will take longer than their average run? =/
I like how I say "This was meant to reward good mentors" and people argue against "This guarantees all mentors are good" (which, of course, no one here - or sane - has said). Wonder if there was a similar whine-fest when the parade chocobo made its debut.
Because doing mentor roulette makes you a good mentor?and no there wasnt for choco parade thiese stupid reaction. I dont miss the point at all.
This is not even close to being the same problem.
The only way to get the new pegasus mount is by doing Mentor Roulette. Being rewarded commandations for the Parade Chocobo can be achieved by a lot of ways, and the feeling of the "grind" is completly different.
In short terms, the Parade Chocobo is rewarded after a passive grind, while the new pegasus mount is rewarded after an active one.
You can get the Parade Chocobo without even trying. It's the opposite for Astrope.
