Nah, you really don't. The change is highly beneficial for the game in the long run - the fact that it is a (minor) inconvenience for you right now is immaterial.

Look at it this way - it gives you something to DO in the game.

Sucks to anyone with +3 crafted armor that isnt NM armor.... The new armor stomps all over most of it. some weapons too. Cobalt winglet is awesome.
