I think this is a catch 22. If its too easy people who really shouldn't be doing the Mentor roulette (people with no interest in actually Mentoring) will be queuing up, ruining the purpose of the Mentor roulette in the first place. On the flipside, they want to allow people who take the time and effort to actually Mentor to get some reward for their efforts.

Not a easy thing to do. Strickly speaking if its tied to the Mentor roulette it probably shouldn't be something that is really for being a 'goal'.

That said, 2000 does seem extremely excessive.

Unfortunately, people who have no interest in actually mentoring will queue up, however it will be worse. They will grind, and rage quit if a player takes too long, or is trying to learn mechanics, in order to grind faster. They will try their best to cheat the system in order to grind 10+ mentor roulettes a day so they can get that mount. Theres already people doing it, someone in another thread mentioned people trying to lower the new people they run into by selecting unpopular languages.

In my opinion, even though 2,000 is absurd, the mount shouldn't even be in the mentor achievements. Yoshi had said he didn't want to do that due to attracting players who don't want to mentor in order to obtain such items. 5 + years to get that mount is insane, no matter the reasoning behind it. If they're bothered by people quickly farming for the mount (if its something along the lines of 200, which is reasonable) they shouldn't have bothered to put it there in the first place. No matter what, you will get people rushing mentor roulette in order to grind for it.

I have about 4.5k dungeon runs and I've been playing since beta. Keep in mind, I have everything at 60, I farmed ponies back when they released, and currently farming birds (I don't pvp, if those count.). Only 4.5k with all that, and they expect 2k mentor roulettes in a decent time frame? I have pretty much given up hope on this mount even though I had really wanted it. I am not about to grind 2k mentor roulettes, and will just continue to do 1 or 2 a day.
