I agree with you. The "bound to you once placed" rule really should have been all that's necessary. (And that is in fact already a rule for all items. If it's a type you can remove intact, then it will be bound to you and untradeable once you do.) The extra rule that varies between item types, destroying some of them if the item is removed, seems really unnecessary.

(It's so often set on some of the hardest-to-get items, too. If it were the other way around, destroying the cheapest easiest to get items, I might more readily accept treating those as disposable.)
