Normally i start dpsing add after he eats 1, so it is dead before or right after eating the second... Normally works fine this way![]()
I always prefer to bring it down to 1-5% HP and let it eat the third cloud. After the third it doesn't just explode, it starts a very long cast before it blows up.
If it was at 1-5% HP before eating, you can kill it in one hit during the cast AND get rid of another annoying cloud![]()
My friend and I were running dungeons because I was trying to get ESO for my relic (didn't make it booo) but anyway maybe 2nd Antitower run.
Friend is PLD and I'm SCH. We get a NIN and a BRD.
Bard is okay, uses Wide Volley when he doesn't need to and deeps is a bit low but whatever. Ninja is........ well
Things are taking forever to die. This run is about 20 min in and we're a little before the 2nd boss. My friend goes "did you know you're out DPSing both the others?" and I'm like...appalled. I love SCH DPS and usually it's my goal to just stay in CS the whole of a run (my friend claims he trusts me) but damn it if that isn't sad
So I'm really bored in that hallway right before the boss since my friend pulled all of it at once and I'm just like "please don't die". The Bard had to go AFK for a sec so it's just the ninja. I take this time to look at the guy's gear and.....
Yoshimitsu Atma
I couldn't believe it. I ask if they have any better gear and they just say "so that explains it". LIKE?????? ugh
They changed weapons and it still took like 10 min or something to kill Calcabrina. RIP
I don't mind taking a while in a dungeon but check your goddamn gear omfg
And then I got the Antitower like five more times that night
I am really fucking sick of tha shit of "watch a video" thing. Those never played a videogame in their life or what? Recuring guides instead of learning by his own and impossing to others... What a videogamers...
If they want see videos and guides it is their problem, but should impose that to others.
He doesn't deserve to be a mentor. Really needed a most better system to avoid this guys.Personally, I don't think it's absolutely necessary for most content.A while ago I was going through the MSQ to unlock the HW classes (late comer, eh) and I queued for Keeper of the Lake, only to be dumped into a group with 4 'sprouts'. Of course no one knew the tactics for the bosses, and we went about it learning the encounters on the fly. We died, screwed up a lot etc. but it was tons of fun going in as complete newbies and getting it done (eventually).
Apart from EX, or stuff like the coils, I haven't really come upon much I can think of offhand that I couldn't pick up on the fly.
It can also be fun to figure stuff out on your own and not just blindly follow whatever guides there are. Though I am glad those guides are available for those who want them.
I do think it's unreasonable to expect everyone to watch/read a guide for every single duty they go into. That said, the 'endgame' stuff I would recommend a guide for.
A8, me SCH, co-healer WHM
Noticed no one was getting AoE heals or single heals
Me to myself: What is that WHM doing?
'Notice WHM is in CS'
Me to myself: Ah, he's gonna die with pride
Sometimes I don't mind solo healing but other times I'll wipe the party to make my co-healer to get off CS
"BAAAAAARD!" - 2018
I fear this doesn't solve the problem. Being in the possession of the new skills doesn't seem to hinder some people to NOT use them, unfortunately. They could add more requirements to queue for max level content like having all your job quests completed and it would tell you if you didn't; this would solve this from happening especially since SE designed the current max level content based on level 60 jobs with all their job spells and abilities unlocked. So really the DF should not let you queue into level 60 content when you are missing the baseline requirements that SE used to design the content.
