I know they said 'item level increase'...but the omni artisan set in 2.0 was technically an item level increase as well and they were barely any better than the specific sets when melded.
From the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXX Digest, posted yesterday:

There are two types of equipment, one which can be crafted and shared across all classes, and another which can be exchanged with red scrips and are class-specific. The item level for the red scrips version is set higher; however, players may utilize advanced materia melding on the crafted pieces, which can prove advantageous in the long run. In Patch 3.3, we'll introduce every piece of equipment for the crafted version, but for red scrips version, the secondary tool, belt, and accessories will be added later in Patch 3.4.
In order for the new the crafted set to even be competitive with the new class-specific red scrips sets (which will obviously be >i180), never mind "advantageous", it will need to be higher item level than our existing sets.

Looks like its going to be ilvl 170 from the patch notes -> Ironworks Apron of Crafting Body Item Level: 170 / Equipment Level: 60
And the traded version will be ilvl170.

The new endgame crafter gear is ilvl 195 (for tools) and ilvl 190 (for the rest).
The new trade-in gear is ilvl 200.

The ilvl 170 gear is just the "omni" equivalent to the existing ilvl 170 crafted gear.

I guess the names in the english patch notes are messed up. Ilvl 170 should be "carbonweave" and ilvl 190 should be "ironworks".

Made a mistake , meant to say that the traded items were 190 but i guess thats wrong too?

    *edit*
Just saw the ones at the bottom.
So we'll have 2 craftable sets this round?
Ironworks of Crafting and Carbonweave of Crafting? hmm.

Yes, it seems so. Don't really know why they added omni ilvl170 gear, but that should spread the competition a bit (or maybe they are specialist locked anyway).
They will probably be a lot more avalaible than the ilvl190 gear (thus cheaper).

I find it interesting that the crafted tools are ilvl 195 and the trade-in only 200. I wonder what the stat differences are.

In the end, I'm quite disappointed by the amount of EXP given by these quests. Granted it's only the beginning, but I don't see them giving a lot more as we increase ranks.
I mean... The EXP per quests in itself is fine, but only 3 quests per day makes it roughly the same as a starred daily turn in for your Grand Company... but only on one class.

Obviously, I won't spit on free EXP, but with all the catch up gear we got, I was expecting a bit more more from the leveling process side of things.

I'd guess they added omnicraft i170 gear so the Favors would not be so discouraging to people.

I think they're quite helpful for the amount of exp they give vs the amount of effort/time required. I'm currently leveling weaver with them, I was only a bit in to 56 on patch day and now I'm going to hit level 58 tomorrow using no exp besides dailies, at level 57 with rank 3 rep, the three dailies altogether yield roughly 840k exp not counting the exp you gain from crafting the actual quest items. Plus there is also the fact that when you hit a new rep milestone you get three extra bonus dailies, so I don't think it will take long to get weaver to 60. With the vendor having crafting gear you can just buy will allow you to get gear as well when you reach the appropriate levels.

I like the new moogles quests. While they are a little weaker in terms of experience than ixali, they are also a great deal easier so far. Also while nice I think we can all agree the ixali quests experience levels were way over tuned. They gave ludicrous amounts of experience.
