Tried to do an expert the other day on WHM.

Even with my regular DPS with holy spam enemies were dying extremely slow. I noticed the BLM never used Enochian--- *words* --- I don't mind helping people but what do you even say to help someone that is that oblivious? He had other jobs 55+ too and was decent ilevel on BLM so he's been playing all this time and missing 5 whole spells/abilities....I can't even...mind blown.

Not to defend the guy but I have not been able to do any of my WHM post 50 job quests because I have not unlocked Ishgard yet.

Maybe the BLM was in the same situation. Just food for thought.

The BLM must have had access to Ishgard as both of the current Expert Roulette dungeons require completion of the Heavensward main story to unlock.

The Anti-Tower in the Expert Roulette requires Ishgard access. So it's not possible.

Your situation is normal but you wouldn't be able to queue for any Ishgard dungeons so its not a problem.

Did some Aery runs to help a friend of mime level up. I queue as SCH and my friend queue as BRD. The run was so dreadful and bad we almost wanted to leave. We got paired with a badly geared DRG and DRK. DRG was doing 0 dmg because he was wearing level 45 to lvl 50 gear with a shiva weapon (??) and the DRK could not keep hate no matter what my friend did so he was doing tiny little pulls the whole run with just my friend and I doing decent dps.

We almost wiped at the last boss because we almost didn't kill the dragon in time before --- could cast his shield to protect us. My friend and I tought maybe that the DRG was new but no..... Everything 60 except DRG same with the DRK. I was doing more dps than the DRG. The run was brutal.

As other posters said, the BLM definitely has access to Ishgard, but it's possible they leveled to 60 before having reached Ishgard (this happened to a paladin I know) and after this they simply forgot to start the new quests.

On the other hand, someone MUST have told them about new abilities along their way to unlock Antitower D:

When I first opened up HW I knew right away that drk would be my new main so I opened it up right away and got to leveling. I did all the every five level quests np, but at around 56 I noticed other drk at or below my lv using things like plunge and salted earth and I was like wtf did I miss something??

Did a WOD run where ppl refused to eat meteors, wouldn't properly divide up for stormclouds, wiped 7 times on the final boss, it was pathetic. It got to the point to where I stopped healing people when I seen them ignoring mechanics. "no heals for you"

I still can't wrap my head around why so many people jump into 24-mans with the intention to be lazy just because it is somewhat faceroll content. The thing is, it stops being faceroll content when people completely ignore the mechanics ¬___¬


Like I did a VA run the other day and a blm on our team, as soon as the first boss started she just stood there only just inside the barrier as to not be locked out. She was of course ultimately kicked, after repeated attempts from people telling her to start fighting or get kicked.

I am generally too nice most of the time I only rarely use the vote kick function and usually for things like harassment or trolling.

The duty finder let him queue and enter the expert even without having his job quests done. He could even queue as THM and get in there...it's more of a game design flaw (and partly his own fault for not caring enough to learn even remotely how to play the game/his job). I just refused to deal with it and took the penalty. If he really is as oblivious as he seemed to be then he probably didn't even realize he did anything wrong.

They could add more requirements to queue for max level content like having all your job quests completed and it would tell you if you didn't; this would solve this from happening especially since SE designed the current max level content based on level 60 jobs with all their job spells and abilities unlocked. So really the DF should not let you queue into level 60 content when you are missing the baseline requirements that SE used to design the content. Imagine a BLM with no 50-60 job quests done going into Sephirot EX? It's bad design that DF would allow him to enter even in a premade PF group.

I really do try to be as nice as I can to other players, but only being human, some of them still manage confuse me to the point of annoyance/giving up. I lost some faith that someone could be THAT oblivious and just didn't feel like playing anymore so I left. I try to help people a lot but there is a limit to how much I will spoon feed someone information that they can find from many other sources if they cared enough to look at it. I firmly believe anyone can learn, on their own, to play a job averagely/decently if they cared enough to do so.
