Why not implement good optional items not these stupid ones

I know they were both so adorable, I splurged too! Here's hoping we get some more of the chinese event items. I've been patiently waiting for a chance at the Korean/China attire!

That's the thing, it's not free! You're already paying a sub(and more if you employ additional retainers like many do). Using your Burger King example it's like having a monthly card for it that turns it into an all you can eat buffet EXCEPT for that juicy, delicious King Burger Deluxe!
I'm generally not anti cash shop, it's a useful way to get some things like past event rewards you missed but I have two complaints about it. A) If you're gonna give us "original" stuff there at least actually make them originals, not just reskins of things already in the game B) Some of the prices are ridiculous considering we're already paying for the game. If it were a F2P game where cash shop is it's only revenue sure, I get it, but here it's just extra income. Don't ask me to pay nearly a month's sub to get a stupid stuffed moogle or over a month's worth for a mount.

No where in the ToS did it state that SE had to provide you with anything other than access to your character, and server space. That doesn't entitle you or anyone else to anything other than that. To use my hamburger analogy again... Just because I buy one hamburger at Burger King, doesn't mean I get another hamburger for free at any point down the road just because I wish it. Or if I pay for a plain burger, doesn't mean I should get all the toppings for free either....
We can argue the cash shop thing until the next century, but I think people need to come to terms with this... FFXIV is a service, nothing more. If you want add-ons (toppings) to that service, pony up!
