Something that I've been randomly thinking about recently is Nidhogg's actions since taking Estinien over...I can't help but think that Estinien may be slightly influencing Nidhogg's actions. Him appearing as a human at times (despite Nidhogg's utter disdain for them) and the fact that he did something as stupid as harm Vidolfnir in front of a bunch of Ishgardians to solidify their alliance before just leaving seems rather suspect to me.

Maybe he's trying to ensure that he dies to make up for both his previous possession and his current possession by Nidhogg? Or something...

I always thought that he appears as Estinien because his Niddhog form is a non-corporeal shade, incapable of physically interacting with anything. Obviously the Final Steps of Faith trial would seem to contradict that, but it fits everything else he's done (including not just toasting the Falcon's Nest to the ground right there), and he could always reconstruct his physical dragon body sometime during 3.3.

As for the Vidofnir attack, well. Niddhog has never really been presented as much of a strategist, and so sowing the seeds of disillusionment and discord among the Ishgardians may not be his modus operandi. An Ishgard divided, and Ishgard united, it's no different - he just wants an Ishgard suffering, by Dravanian hands.

I think being forced to bodyjack a mortal has hampered Nidhogg's judgement considerably. He seems more like he jsut wants everything to burn now instead of playing the long game; and Vidoffnir was a "traitor" conspiring with his enemies, so she gets a pole in the back.

Though it kinda irks me that this doesn't immediately drive big H onto our team and apparently we still have "more to prove", someone trying to murder my daughter would be all the convincing I needed to put a stop to this nonsense.

I'm gonna bring up Hydealyn's current state. She is currenly all but drained of aether, has to rely on a HOST just to communicate with us (or stay alive) an the majority of what little aether she had was already spend shielding us from the exploding Praetorium. It is very likely that even if she wanted to help, she just can't (assuming she is really the personification of the world, as oppose to a primal based off such a concept). Although we reunited most of the Scions and cleared our name regarding the bloody banquet, we are still alone in a more divine sense, with Hydaelyn likely unable to help and Midgardsomnr being unwilling to help besides getting us to destinations, we likely have to put Nidhogg to the sword under our own power...Something we seemed to had gained a lot of prior to the Word of the Mother's revelations, espeiclay when all signs point to us being Hydaelyn's Last Resort. Hmmm.

Oh. I assume that comes more from lingering guilt over what he enabled Nidhogg to do (and lingering Grief over St. Shiva's loss). I see the dungeon thing more as either us telling Hraesvelgr to stop wallowing in self pity or him challenging us to do the former.

I wouldnt expect middy to want to down one of his own children for men, i mean he lost two of them already to allagan/ishgard, and last we seen him he responded with some "why cant we get along, Niddy? So full of vengeance, child just chill" BUT I wouldnt put it past him to do something to try to right all the wrongs, and whatre we gonna do with nidhoggs eyes? roast them and have a good old fashioned ishgardian barbecue? Nidhogg wont perish unless his eyes are.... maybe hell get reformed...or middy will spit out another ratatoskr egg, ok this is far fetched but
his bond with hydaleyn seems a little untouched, and im not even sure how deep seeded it is, im sure it was a good mutual arrangement though, and so he'll probably have to mediate in the end....what were his words in 2.4? Until my body is fully grown....how big is he by now? how fast does he grow?

• Keeper of the Lake. Big enough to coil around a decently sized battleship
• Post-KotL. the size (and shape) of a dracoling, maybe a little bit smaller
• Post-Tiamat. Well he;ls grown, but I would peg him as 1/100 or maybe 1/500 of his size at KotL so he isn't fully grown yet.

All of this too place within the span of a few weeks at least maybe a few months or an entire year (since the events that transpire included Moenbrida's demise, Nanamo's "demise", Vishap's assault, Our getting antiquated with and helping House Fortemps with stuff in both Coerthas an the Sea of Clouds, our Foray into Dravania [complete with campfire scene to show that yes, this is gonna take awhile], Ravana, helping Moogles in the Mists [which alone felt like months ], Battling Nidhogg, Rescuing Ameryc from the Vault, Fighting Bismarck, jury-rigging an aetheric ram to batter our way though Azys Lla and finally Getting to Thordian. Not to mention the sidequests that you done in the meantime)

Yeah Half of Nidhogg/Hraesvelgr's size seems closest. (almost as tall, but half as long)
