So who do YOU look up to/respect most on teh battlefield?

Its 6am here in between fights and I r bored a tad so thought I'd just put this question out there. Considering how toxic alot of people (myself included) have been due to the stresses of fights and stuff, thought itd be a little refreshing to shift gears a bit. But yeah, of the many various combatants, healers etc youve come accross...who stands out in your mind the most as that individual who goes beyond the norm (for better or worse) to get the job done? (and if you say 'yourself'...I'll shove an angry lala down your pants!) Don't be shy~ Set that ego aside and admit it..and yer reasons why.

    My picks:
    3. Tempest Storm
    2.Shalua Lee
    1.Khronor Murph

Tempest- a paladin in healer's robes

I've a fundamental hatred of healers 1- because theyre never there in time when I REALLY need em (partially my own fault for going too deep to get that last 1% hp when Ive only got 2% left myself) and 2- because they're always getting in the way (how DARE you heal the person I'm attacking!) And while I wish to god for a No Heals Allowed mode, looks like theyre here to stay, from best to worst. Tempest Storm (whm) is on the better end of this, especially with those 12th hour pinch heals. But thats any decent healer on a sunny day. Tempest, however, has decided to get cute and unlock the White Paladin sidequest. With that Roesized snowman head and coat, he actually leads charges instead of backing them up, allowing him to stay closer to front melees. But its the way he eats/absorbs damage while staying at the front (and im not talking about a kiting style either.) Its a clear violation of the healer code and one day his liscence WILL be revoked for it. Til that day, however...

Shalua- cover of darkness be damned

While every melee has his own style, I find 3 most in Frontlines: 1- Those who put the team 1st and assist as much as possible, 2- Those who merely use the team as living shields to cover their entry/kill/escape and 3- Those who couldn't give a lala's furry nads about the team and fight their own fight, so to speak. While this last one may SEEM negative, if said person is on target, imo..its more beneficial than the other 2. Better than 1 because sometimes, teams just give up altogether and splinter, leaving each to his own devices...in which case a fighter who still stays his course is above the 'fairweather only' type. I've seen Shalua maintain his output in the worst of situations (as a personal rule of thumb, its those killers/hi-dpsers on the LOSING team thats a tell-tell most) when rest of the team didn't have a clue. But theres also the fact that hes doing this on bloodbathless-nin (no offense) without resorting to the typical ankle bitter/ 'heavenforbid you engage me w/o a healer nearby' tactics I see so much of. (cuz imo its in times like those that you really find out what someones job and skill is worth)

Khronor- advance of the reckless fool

    This may seem like a diss, but really I can give no higher compliment. Khronor gets my #1 for a few reasons. He plays war 100% like I used to back in ff11 as mnk (with more vit/hp stacked than a koenigged pld) Its one thing to show up as a tank simply to keep yourself alive longer and pester a few healers. Its another thing entirely to consistantly shove yourself so far down the other teams throat, you couldn't retract if you sincerely wanted to (bow chicka~) The thing is, its a thankless job...and many many many times, I've seen him make a lonely one-way trip. In the event however his team follows que and backs him up, its an instant onesided zerg. As a whole though, the guy's got no fear whatsoever. Stands his ground extremely well. During my ambush days during slaughter where I'd hide out at the pads as nin and ambush people, hes the only tank Ive never been able to kill even once (plds...are squishy O_ o) I swear Id love to mimic his playstyle on drg but fug, just not enough hp/def ; ;

But anyway, those are my picks. If theres someone out there who inspires you to knock off your own stupidity and ascribe to something better, let et be known~

At least you have started to reflect on the fact u like to run of on your own instead of just blaming the 3 other people.

    Amen.

Not a single thanks when I outheal the WHM in Nocturnal Stance and keep everyone alive through the initial skirmish, or babysit our MNK to battle fever, but boy do people start talking when they die alone on the other side of the map. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't PvP often enough to name anyone in particular, but my respect goes out to everyone who is able to keep a positive or even cheerful attitude despite all the frustrations that come naturally with PvP in general and this game in particular.

I simply find that admirable. I know I have a hard time keeping it up when I play for extended periods of time.

All of these picks are excellent.

I also really like having Davyd Harvey, Anela Tumulus, and Nahtaivel Veydal on my team because they all communicate really well, which helps a lot.

I really respect Curty Ballistar, Jermz Misaki, and Amaya Shizuka for being hard to win against, Curty knows why he's sneaky, and Jermz always gives me good matches. Amaya plays everything it seems and I think he remembers how people play well enough to counter when he's on the opposing team. Davyd is the same way in that regard, he's my BFF when we're in the same PT, but I swear he has me marked for death the entire match when I'm on the opposing team. lol

Special commendation to Magosupra Light, who actually cast Sleep one time. I am not kidding.
