And this is why you use dissipation, its to correct those human mistakes that could have elad to a raid wipe.
1) example has no bearing on dissipations usage, same issues would be had with or without the use of dissipation. If the fairy heals are so needed to roevent a raid from wiping, perhaps the issue is with the general skill level of the raid group. I raise before my sch does in raids and i am the main healer (ast). Same can be said about usage of benediction and swiftcast in whm in this example. Or if someone dies after a ast has swiftcast and lightspeed on cooldown. Example is not about dissipation in the slightest but a bad situation in general.
2) the person dying is either their fault or the healers fault. Once again no relevance to dissipation as an ability.
3) is weird. The assumption is that you will always be swiftcasting the fairy doesnt work. Dissipation is used strategically or as an emergency. Strategically its when you will have the uptime to resummon. Also phase oushing is a very real thing in raids where theose three extra cleric stanced energy drains can make the difference.
So dont make the assumption that the fairy is going to be swiftcasted all the time.

				These 2 point please
Swiftcast is abused by many healer for no reason (and summoner too)
You always have to judge if yes or no you can use it (sometime in less than a second but... whatever)
In a perfect world where healer DPS is not needed to clear you can find 6 sec to manual summon the fairy
There is many short windows per fight
Sometime shorter than the cast time, but the loss of 1 DPS gcd can worth having the fairy back in the healing process
Dissipation is all about making sacrifice for the greater good XD
Emergencies happen because mistakes were made. Gallus pointed out that when mistakes become lethal dissipation isn't going to save anyone.
And like I said before, a good Scholar holds their Aetherflow stacks until it's about time to refresh it. Aetherflow itself is Aetherflow on Demand, lol. If you need more than that then somebody screwed up, and once you've completed your burst heal have now become a burden to your party. A fairyless Scholar is nothing but a crippled Summoner.

Time you learn the difference between good and great. The great scholar learn how and when to use its skills and to what effect. The great scholar can heal for 30 secs without the fairy.Emergencies happen because mistakes were made. Gallus pointed out that when mistakes become lethal dissipation isn't going to save anyone.

Raid scholars dont usually have the luxury of of holding onto aetherflow stacks to use until aetherflow is back up.
And no, what was being said is situations where dissipation make things worse. It is the case that all of the examples given are dissipation-neutral, that is to say dissipation doesnt impact the outcome wether used or not.

They do. I've been there, done that. If you're having trouble holding your stacks then blame yourself or your co healer. Hell if you look up FFlogs the only time Dissipation gets used is literally the last 30s of a raid in order to squeeze out three more energy drains, but these are the BEST Scholars in the world, it's not like they know anything.
So there you go. The greatest Scholars did learn how to use the skill. For pointless DPS padding at the end of a fight LOL.
That is one of its many uses.![]()

You dont understand the difference between progression and farming do you? They do. I've been there, done that. If you're having trouble holding your stacks then blame yourself or your co healer. Also do you actually have any raid experience on scholar yourself or are you just basing this on fflogs?
EDIT: your argument actually defeats itself. Not only is the sch one of the top players in the world as you say, but so are the rest of the raid group. The chances of these other players making such a mistake during farming savage is so miniscule that it makes dissipation irrelevant. Let me ask you, on these logs, is the whm using benediction at all other than to prolong their dps? If not, lets take benediction out of the game as its use isnt there.
I think you need to get far more experience in healing in this game before you make silly claims like this.

I think I really will just start saving video clips, just to try and show how I typically use it. It's great for my playstyle, but we all play differently. Some scholars abuse physick, where I'm more likely to adlo or Lustrate. Some scholars like to open with virus, I like to hold it for heavy damage phases. Lots of little differences, that give us advantages and disadvantages in different respects.
Been a Scholar since 2.1, solo healed Garuda EX, Titan Ex, T4 all during the same patch. Since then I've cleared every difficult raid except FCoB and these last two raids. I'm military so when duty calls I have to put the game down. I did clear A3S back in 3.0 though, but I've yet to catch up to the gear required for Midas.
Though compared to A3S everything there looks painfully easy. I'm not expecting more than a month of progression. I keep Dissipation on my bar just in case the Fairy dies, and I guess if I cared about Logs ID use it at the end to pad my numbers.
My point is though, players who can farm content got there with a winning strategy. If you don't need dissipate to farm, it stands to reason you don't need it to progress.
