I thought that was an excellent video. Taking from that and what else I have read then the new gtx 1080 may not be quite up to the task to single hand perform 4k @ 60hz on max settings. It might keep 60hz or 60fps as most ppl call it with some tweak settings.GTX 1080 and 2 SLI GTX 980 aren't that different in terms of performance, you can see a lot of details about the 1080 here mainly 4k benchmarks between titanx, SLI 980s and the new 1080

Any further suggestions on what else besides the resolution and refresh rate that might impact stable fps and can be toned down without too much sacrifice on quality? The whole point in going 4k was for more eye candy for myself. Can't say why others might want it. It's not mando but it is something I would like to try and do. I read an overclock might help stabilize the frame rate. And from what I read you can do a decent one on the core clock and memory on air. Being my situation I am stuck with reference cards for now on this SFF but that's not so bad I actually don't mind. Simplifies my gaming setup sometimes on games that fuss over sli or crossfire.
