Generally speaking you will sometimes find locations that share the name and are very similar to locations in previous Final Fantasy games but they aren't the exact same place. FF14 is it's own world. The same applies to the locations in Othard that have FF12 names.

The weapons and region OP is referring to are actually from Tactics Ogre.

I'd say it's just a fun reference. The Heavensward artbook claims that they have many people working on XIV that works on the LuCT PSP remake, and that they all have great love for it, so that's probably why they did it.

Oh I know. My point is that is likely a place with the name that might even be very similar somewhere in Hydaelyn but it won't be the same location because its a different World.
