FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

I already stated i want Viera in this thread i believe. Ill state it again just to show how much i support it. But you know what else would be cool? An esper, like Terra from FF6.

A half primal race. Maybe have options based on the primal of your choice(iftritlings get real ifrit horns, moglings get a puff ball antenna and garudalings get feathered body parts like the knees and elbows.)

I'd be down for any type of race that actually has origins in a Final Fantasy game (Ronso, Viera, Lunarian, Burmecian, Terran, Shumi, whatever). I don't think Au Ra had any connection to a previous FF game, unless they were in one of the few I haven't played (3, 5, and 11).

Au Ra completely brand new, iirc cause haven't played IV in a while, aren't Lunarians pretty much humans on the moon? Don't remember many stand out features from them.

I don't understand the demand for Viera. lol
If SE does release Viera as a playable race, you can safely bet that day 1 there will be a dozen threads complaining it's "Just Miqo'te with bunny ears and bunny tails", like how there were complaints that "Au Ra is just Hyur with horns/scales".

Not sure if I posted in this topic yet, but I feel that the reason we won't get exotic looking races is that

-people complain about clipping too much
-player base hasn't shown enough love for races that don't fit into the hyur/miquote body type.

Ps3 limitations aside, if the playerbase were more lenient about those two things, I think we'd have a lot more diversity when it comes to new playable races.

Considering how low the Roegadyn, Elezen and Lalafell populations are, this statement rings very true.

Wasn't it mentioned by SE as well that the Mi'qote female is the base model for all the races when it comes to designing gear, like its made for them first then its adjusted for everyone else.

I don't know about the population in the entire game but what I see at least in Cerberus is that the lalafell and Au Ra(male too which doesn't follow the Hyur body type) populations are definetely on par with the others.
And although I'd probably just continue playing a miqo'te I'd be all for exotic races! However it's unlikely for one more reason. Ease of devs. The more the new body types deviate from the already established ones, the more work it'd be to adjust new gear to them.

Well that would explain why a lot of hairstyles seem to favor females.

There is a lot of Lalafells on Leviathan too, I think they even have like 2 Lala social linkshells. Au Ra, and Miqo'tes are close behind though.

I'm more interested how the ears will be. Since they're on top of the head like Miqo'te will ear change depending on the hairstyles or will we be able to change the size/ shape ala Elezens and Lalafells .... or like the au ra where its limited to the face :-/
