yea, Even cecil's main weapon set was sword/shield... I really hate this armory system now lol.
I'm sure great axe isn't going to be the only weapon WAR can use.
I thought the whole thing about Warrior was they are skilled with any weapon.
Which adds to the notion that the horned dude with the axe was not a Warrior, but a Viking.
Problem here is the Armory system limits the choices. If they were to introduce a great sword class, it'd be almost a carbon copy of Marauder.
Add great swords to the Marauder class, and just watch the QQ-fest about how it breaks the lore.![]()

That was the whole point of Warrior (they're even working on allowing them to change properties of their weapons based on circumstances) but people dig the Armoury system so they like the "Weapon = Class" route.
So while Gladiator has Daggers and Swords, that essentially killed the possibility of Thief or Assassin ever popping up with their distinctive weapon.
Yes, and that's a damn shame. I miss my dual-wield daggers. That was the whole point of Warrior (they're even working on allowing them to change properties of their weapons based on circumstances) but people dig the Armoury system so they like the "Weapon = Class" route.

Oh look the precious Armory system that was so coveted by some has a major flaw...the game's growth. (Saw this coming the day it was announced)
Why is that, they couldn't introduce a differently named type of weapon which are essentially daggers for the Thief to use (either as a class or a job)? Or have Thief be unlocked by dual wielding 2 weapons? That was the whole point of Warrior (they're even working on allowing them to change properties of their weapons based on circumstances) but people dig the Armoury system so they like the "Weapon = Class" route.

I see no reason why they couldn't implement a dual weapon main hand item, e.g. dual daggers, similar to how pugilist technically has 2 weapons (one in each hand), though it's only considered one item.
Why do people not like scythes? Personally to me they look awesome, except for those that look like farming tools.

Just a few ideas. GLA should get great swords and the DRK job down the road IMO. This will give them the opportunity to be DRK or pld which mars sense to me
Also, while daggers are currently under GLA, knives are not in the game. While they shared the same skill in XI, knives were more exclusive to RNG and THF so it's still a possibility to see a THF class. Or just take daggers from GLA completely.
