Just dinged 60 recently and want to slot in materia. Any tips you all could provide for the left and right side materia slots?
Thanks!
My character profile below to suggest Materia slots.

You have 826 Skill Speed. You might want to address that before worrying about melds.
However, what I would aim for is Crit and Det in as many slots as possible - favoring Crit.
At the risk of sounding ignorant here - please explain what I should address about skill speed?
Ah! Right.
826 Skill Speed falls into the "dead zone" - when you go to reactivate your Blood of the Dragon at the 60s mark, it will not be ready. You'll either need to delay a GCD (sin #1 committed by DPS that should never happen) or you'll need to delay Blood of the Dragon's activation an additional combo (costing you 1 Geirskogul in the fight) - and this will happen every time you reactivate it from then on. It's bad and it severely dampens your ability to properly perform the tasks required of the Job.
It's been calculated/figured that you want to keep SKS no higher than 730 or so to avoid this dead zone, but ideally you want it down around 590-600, where you have theoretically infinite cycles of Blood of the Dragon before the aforementioned problem slows you down.
So you want a slower cooldown? Or am I misunderstanding the skillspeed stat? I'm sorry! Still new to this!
Yeah. You want your gcd to be down around 2.40, not too much higher or lower. If you drop to 2.35-2.36 you're in a big danger zone.
There's a really good thread on the topic here.
You have been awesome! Thanks for the tips! One last tip - what gear might you suggest I change in the interim between now and when I can obtain the Slipstream gear?
Indeed your skill speed is high. Should lower it to around 640 - 670. I had 800 plus skill speed before and Invigorate won't save you either. You can swap some of your equipment with the midas 220 gear to lower your SS. Since you have eikons, why not spam as much crit IV as possible? Secondary would be determination IV. I did that before i obtain my 230 gear.![]()
1. Prioritize the Slipstream Breeches of Maiming. Crafted pants are worthless.
2. AVOID AND NEVER PURCHASE the Slipstream Mail of Maiming - it's a downgrade from crafted, even at 240.
3. Check the vendor of Midas Normal stuff and look at places you can drop Skill Speed from pieces.
4. Outside of the above ^ I would then prioritize the Slip hat. Proto Midan Ring will help drop some sks, too, I think?
I changed up a bit to lower the skill speed down to 619.. Let me know what you would suggest tweaking from here. if you don't mind.1. Prioritize the Slipstream Breeches of Maiming. Crafted pants are worthless.
