A thousand times yes. Having a different skin tone or optional facial tattoo doesn't really do anything. I expected different emotes as well.
I do want more customization, I get bored with my character. The number 1 thing I want, is some kind of default expression choice. My Au'ra looks so dead inside when she's standing idle D:

...but if they did that a very vocal crowd of players would show up to demand that it isn't 'fair'. Much in the same way that they kick and scream in response to the idea of racial exclusive clothing and hairstyles. It's unfortunate that those sort of players end up being appeased.
