Since individual feast is so RNG, it would be nice to 'save' your highest rating

As in, your score for the season is the peak amount that you had achieved. Got up to 1k+? Great! Want to keep playing and get a bad group of randoms? No worries, your highest rating number is kept to determine your ranking.

As of right now, a lot of people are getting high rankings and then just... stopping. There is no reason to keep playing. In fact, continuing to play can be more damaging than good. This is not really good for the longevity of the game.

If your max rating attained was kept as your 'permanent' ranking, one could continue playing without worrying about losing it. If you go below it, it stays at your max, and if you go above it, your max adjusts.

Well losing is part of the game mode. If losses didn't count, it'd be who plays most wins.

You would still have to get a highest consecutive win, so no, not who plays the most would win. It would not be cumulative.
For example, if I hit 1100, then lost 8 matches and got down to 900, my 'highest' score would still be at 1100. I would have to win another 8 matches to get back to 1100. Supposing I won another match, and got to 1125, that would become my new 'high score'. If something awful happened and my rating dropped down to like 800 from there, and I never recovered, my highest score would be kept at 1125 as my best score.

As of right now, if you get to 1125 and stop playing, that is the optimal play if you want to be in the top 100. My suggestion would just bookmark that score and allow one to continue playing without the fear of losing the highest attained score.

I think this season has gone on too long TBH... The hardcore crowd is dropping out to maintain their score, and even if "season best" was what counted, I doubt they'd come back... Why would they? They'll get paired up with a few Silver players and "carry" them to Gold where they'll potentially be a challenger for their place... Why help Silver players get to Gold when you can leave them in purgatory with the unranked and Bronze players? I look at the number of unchanged ratings on the leaderboard recently, and the number of just down right bad matches recently, and there is certainly a correlation... That's not to say it's impossible to get out of Silver while playing with a bunch of people who have no idea what they're doing, it just simply isn't fun... I used to dread seeing certain names, but still enjoy the matches regardless, now it's just frustrating match after frustrating match...

If SE wants to ensure people keep playing Feast, regardless of their rating, they'd be better off implementing a rating decay system... I doubt this community would respond well to being "forced" to play, though... It would do the job though, people would be forced to keep playing and the Feast would last until the season ends... Right now I'd say the Feast is over and people are just fighting over table scraps, and the quality of the matches definitely reflects that... There are still plenty of people who know what they're doing, but there aren't enough for the matchmaking system to do anything more than play "Does you <role> know about PvP skills!" lottory... At least, that's my take away from the last few days... This time last week, I was mostly playing with Golds, a few Bronzes, and maybe two unranked players for the entire day... The exact reverse of that since Friday...

Personally I really like playing. I enjoy the competition and the game, but I would also like to be in the top 100 at the end of the season. We still have quite some time until the season ends. Not only is the mode fun, but it is a great way to get esos and lore and wolf marks.

I had attained a personal best of 1221, which would have put me rather high up on the top 100 for the season. However, I continued to play, and through some bad RNG, disconnecters, feeders, and what have you, I am now not even on the board. It is really discouraging to be so harshly punished for simply continuing to play. Had I just stayed there and quit playing, I would have been better off in rating.

That way, if people want to push themselves for a higher rating, it is less of a gamble and more of a challenge. Dropping off the board after being in the top 20 just because I decided to keep playing is pretty crushing and discouraging.

Another issue is perhaps the rewards... IMO, SE is handing out the most significant rewards for the top 100 spots, as such that is what this is a fight for; The top 100... The crown and furniture trophy are really lackluster rewards, and we don't even know what the ranking based rewards are (well, we know they're accessories, so they're instantly meh) so there is absolutely no body going "Diamond has a really cool reward, so I'll keep climbing for that!"... Since it is a fight for the top 100 though, people bug out at that point... Why bother aiming for the top 10? All that gets you is a meh crown... Why risk falling down the leaderboard for #1? All that gets you is a trophy... There is no where near the interest in the top 10 spots that there should be...

I want that gear, and I was getting pretty close until today (the term melt down springs to mind...), but I'd be for first place getting the crown, top 10 getting the armor, and top 100 getting the trophy... First place is still pretty meh, but rather than having a top 100 with over half the people on it quitting because they got what they came for, we'd have a situation where people are fighting for the top 10 spots, because those are the ones that matter... Competition for those top 10 spots would be real, there really wouldn't be any opportunity to just sit on your ass and not play to get the best rewards... I really think SE went far too casual with the rewards for Feast...

I would actually argue that of you did this and limited the armor to the top 10 there would be even less people bothering with the mode save for the truly hardcore. Before this season even began there were people complaining that 100 armor per data center was too little. Limit it to ten and more than 3/4 of the people currently ranked in the top 100 wouldn't even bother to queue anymore since they will feel they don't have a realistic chance at getting the armor, which honestly is the only thing anybody gives a damn about (even if it's only for glamour/show off purposes).

Well, ideally all they need to do is have the top 10 and first place rewards just be that much better than the armor... They can have armor for the top 100, but the top 10 reward needs to be good enough to give something for people to aim for beyond the armor... Currently that definitely isn't the case, the crown is incredibly lackluster and the first place reward might as well be a pat on the back... You cannot show off that trophy in PvP, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the six who gets one doesn't even have the house to place it... The top 100 armor is the only reward that really matters, as such people lose interest upon reaching that... If people had interest in the top 10 rewards, people would be more incline to aim beyond 1,100 rating...

They could achieve something similar by just having actual tier rewards that matter... Accessories are incredibly boring, I don't think those rewards even register for anyone... If reaching Diamond had some special reward attached, people would perhaps be interested in reaching it, rather than settling in at Gold for the armor alone...

I agree there should be a reward for placing in the top 10 apart from the top 100 to give more incentive to push up the rankings and keep things competitive. I won't lie I'm one of those people that reached the top 25 with 1100+ points and just stopped queuing afterwards simply because that's high enough to remain comfortably in the top 100 and get the armor. Had there been something enticing for placing in the top 10 I would continue to queue as I'm not far off at all in points from placing within it, however as it stands there's no reward to justify the headache that comes with potentially getting paired with inexperienced players in successive matches so why bother. I honestly could not care less about a rehash crown nor the furniture even though i do own a house.

Well I do believe you get rewards based on your tier as well, so there is that as well.
