Just to be sure, I'm not claiming level 30 is endgame level. That would be stupid.

It may not be that strange, but it is just incomprehensible to me why anyone would use Cure on SCH or AST. And at least finish the level 30 AST quest that explains the basic functions of the job before running off into the dungeons/trials/whatever. It's starting to feel that asking people to know the basics of the jobs they play is just too much.

My boyfriend used to cross class Cure onto his SCH all the time and use it to confuse people. It has about the same potency as Physick (I remember he did it in Garuda HM once and we had 2 SCHs and the MT was freaking out about where the random Cures were coming from), and SCHs don't have procs the way WHM and AST do with Cure II and Bene II.

Though, I do think the AST in your situation didn't know the class very well or maybe even healing classes at all. I had a friend who played tank and DPS fairly well, and really wanted to try AST, so they unlocked it and... my lord, you'd think they'd never touched an MMO in their life, lol. It was a completely different game for them and it took a very long time for them to get used to it. (I'm also pretty sure he abandoned the idea of healing at about level 45 as I haven't seen him on his AST since the first week of HW)

That actually sounds really funny. I should do that some time. XD

    It was hilarious. XD

He was freaking out, he accused me (I was on BLM) at least 3 times of using Cure. When Garuda went down, my boyfriend kept spamming Cure on him and the poor tank was just like, "OMG. YOU. YOU ARE A DICK. TAKE MY COMMENDATION. I HATE YOU."

I think the whole party had a good laugh.

@Selli: I totally did that for the longest time on SCH, simply because I hated the sound effect of Physick...^^"
Eventually I gave in and cross-classed Aero instead in the mid-fifties. Before that tanks were so papery anyway that I never had the time to apply an additional non-spreading DoT, so not having Aero was no problem..

Got quite a few laughs out of it in dungeons, too^^

Had a crazy few runs on Saturday. Me and bf are just going through the HW story, got to The Vault, he'd watched the videos so would let me know what to avoid etc before the bosses. We're SMN and BRD (and I have a terrible feeling i'm a subpar BRD i'm trying to improve I promise!)

1st run (or possible 2nd, they were all so bad to start with ) started off and we were already worried.
Waiting for Tank to grab the aggro but we both took it as soon as we attacked. Thought well ok fine, will aoe for now and pick off enemies once they're low enough they wont have time to do too much damage if we pull them off the tank. So carry on like that for a while going very slowly, tank died on the way to the first boss but not sure who was at fault then.

1st and 2nd bosses went ok, got through by the skin of our teeth but 3rd boss... ohhhmg. We must've wiped like 7 times. First time the healer died and just straight away returned to the entrance. Bf can rez and was confused when his bar said "interrupted" - so weren't getting through that without a healer!
We had so much trouble getting rid of the flamey balls too, I tried taking off WM the 3rd time so I could run ahead and knock them down a little and the rest behind could mop up, no joy. Asked the healer whether it would be any good putting down Asylum when they explode so we could get through it, helped a little but not enough. I'm only low level WHM and made sure it was obviously only a curious suggestion.
Needless to say after the like 7th wipe we all returned to entrance... stood there for like a minute and then the vote abandon popped up and everyone clicked yes.

The last run was AMAZING - tank and healer were chatty, tank could do much bigger pulls (and the healer not only coped but DPSd) and instead of worrying about aggro I could try to use my songs (which i'm just getting to grips with). Final boss the flames were all down before he even mentioned "mercy" - was such a breath of fresh air

As we left we made sure we gave them a com each and said "thank you so much!" to them as we were actually thinking we'd never get any further in the story >.<

Guys...I had good co-tanks...on a Sunday night...in Void Ark! I joined an FC mate's run to help out, and I never turn down excuse for free farthings, and the other two tanks were communicative, cooperative, we agreed who was tanking what, and whoever wasn't MT picked up adds appropriately. So smooth. No wipes. No dead healers or dps. I wish they could all be like that.

With a whm in party the balls should never be an issue. A cleric stance Assize from dead center hits all the balls and even slightly under-geared whm will take 20% off all the targets (ilvl synced I do about 30%). There's not really enough outgoing damage before that point to justify using assize as a healing skill anyways, so imo it's the best spot to use it.

Well, thanks to unexpected bursts of lag that came out of nowhere, I guess I won't be doing much more tonight, but the lag did create a headache worth venting or laughing over.

I had super-lag on my first run of Snowcloak, and died on every boss because the game would freeze for up to 30 seconds at a time, but the group was kind and understanding and good enough to finish the run with a healer who couldn't move out of the way of boss attacks. I spent nearly two hours looking into it, found an issue, got my connection speed amped up where it ought to be, and logged back in for a dungeon roulette bonus. Got Dzemael Darkhold. Cool. But the lag was worse

Basically I let the group know what was up, they were very nice, and no one died. Trash pulls also had freezes but not as bad as boss fights. Had the 10-30+ freezes again, especially on the last boss. I basically healed the Batraal fight running in circles and casting Stoneskin and various heals/regens according to what I thought might be happening. Like a double extreme version of the dungeon. Then at 20% left for boss health it was just me running in a frozen game for over a minute. I finally asked in chat if we were still fighting, someone said no and laughed, and then the game sped through the animations from the fight to get back to the present. Got 3 commendations.

Sorry to those I ran with and for making such hard runs out of those fun dungeons.
