The top 10 (on primal at least) almost all have 60% or higher win rate with a significant amount of games played (as in games played upwards of 140 as opposed to the 60% win rates of ppl with less than 100 games played) which makes it impressive. There's only one person up there really who brute forced their way into the top 10 by virtue of having played an obscenely high amount of games compared to the rest.

As for the original OP of the thread, I'd agree he can easily be in the top 100 right now, idk if he quit for now or what, and can make the top 25 but i disagree with the top 10 definitely. Everyone has to put up with the random nature of solo queue which is why you see so many cycles of people climbing and falling but most of the top 10 have been a rock up there for a while, setting themselves apart from the rest.

Ya, the guy is able to maintain a 54% winrate so you can actually climb with that. It just means that if you play 100 games you may win around 54 of them vs 46 losses and be positive around 100 points(Because the losses hurt a lot more than a win in rating). It just means he has to play 500 more games than the mch who is higher than him now xD

Yup. Just to be clear also in case it came across that way, I wasn't implying that he/she didn't belong in the top 10. I've played with that person and have witnessed first hand how skilled they are at healing. He/she deserves the slot among the top 10 and the fact that their win rate isn't as high as the other dps in the top 10 is just further testament as to how hard and unrewarding healing in feast is.

Can confirm this. i'm currently brute forcing my way there with a 43% winrate over about 400 games (rofl). It's been brutal to say the least. I'm just happy i've been able to progress at all. Tbh i feel like healing in the feast has definitely strengthened "me" as a player and i look forward to the future iterations.

I think many people who are being discouraged from the constant up/down of rating may not be looking at the actual win/loss counts of players in the top 100 (not necessarily the ratios, but the actual wins and losses). It's clear that dps has the most carrying potential among all roles, but there is only one person on my entire datacenter (Primal) with higher than an 80% win ratio, and they aren't in the top 10 as of today. Everyone else on the list is hovering between high 40s and high 60s. It seems that brute forcing it through the ranking is really the only answer for anyone because there will always be the random factor of the solo queue. Healers and tanks will definitely have a harder time of this, but everyone is bound to go up/down.

For example, the current top person on Primal has a 60.9% win ratio as a dps. He's won 233 out of 382 games according to today's rankings. I've personally played with him and he's a great player, but that's 149 games that he lost... I feel like I PvP a lot and I have only played 164 games this season... So I've only really played slightly more games than he's lost, and yet he still played enough (and won enough) to secure the top spot on our datacenter. So... I could sit here and feel sorry for myself because I am sometimes getting handed teams that stack the odds against me from the getgo... or I could just look at people who have played waaaaaaay more than me and realize that this is what I have to do to work my way up.

There are definitely flaws with the way matchmaking is handled, and I think even the top ranked players would agree with this. I just don't think any of these things will be adjusted/changed mid-season, so we will have to deal with it for now. I am HOPING they keep some sort of data about previous games so that they an analyze it and made adjustments for the future seasons. I think FFXIV PvP has a lot of potential, but it's going to take some time until it's tweaked to perfection.

thats the case with me as well. I tend to switch jobs if I lost a match because the tank had 10 stacks died and we killed them again then he again gets 7 stacks... then last 40 secs he stand still instead of kiting and die again.. like all the hardwork i done for killing them multiple times go to waste... then i switch to tank the next match... then i end up with bad dps not killing enemy player. and then again the DCs happen

It definitely has been a role tango for me in Feast and I think that may be one of the contributing factors as to why my win rate has dropped below 50%.

I was maining BRD back when people would just go "RIP BRD, gg" at the start of the match in party chat, but I was still leading the kills and dps output. I was noticing that tanks were playing really bad at the start, so I decided to switch to my WAR...

...and now I just watch helplessly as our dps burst like a wet noodle, ignore the buff boxes and run around like Benny Hill. It is nearly impossible to carry a team as a WAR, same as with healer.

...now that BRDs are all the rage and back in good favour and tanks seem to be saturated atm, I go and switch to BRD and now the queues for ranged are RIP. Now we have tanks queuing for instant pop and throwing matches last minute due to stacks and LoS derps.

    So...back to WAR...(SIGH).

I hear you, Chevronon. I main DRK, and while my win rate currently is nothing special, I've been getting gradually more and more merciless and have figured out some interesting nuances to DRK. Like the fact that in a little over 3s (enough time for a stun... look at that!) I can push out close to 2,500 potency in ideal conditions. Which is really impressive for a tank. So hearing "wtf, stop playing DRK" on a regular basis definitely can make you not want to play it.

Also, I wish it was bad tanks for me, I only get bad healers and bad DPS because I'm playing a tank. Can I please stop having higher total kills and damage than the rest of my team already so I can get out of silver? There's also this one guy who bashes me because I've been in silver for weeks, without realizing that I only play a tank in PvP because that's all I'm comfortable as. Which means that yes, getting out of silver is hard.
