Why Do Rocks Float

The areas that float do so thanks to a massive quantity of either wind or lightning aether in the area. If you look at the bottom of many floating islands in the Sea of Clouds, for instance, you'll notice they are greenish, smooth rocks, just like wind crystals.

I've seen the crystals underneath the floating islands in the Sea of Clouds and the Churning Mists. Those are green, but the ones in the Floating City of Nym are orange, so now I'm also wondering what the difference in colour means.

The corrupted Crystals are also Orange, and of higher saturation then Earth Crystals, so maybe the color has something to do with Elementals' response to the War of the Magi

Orange crystals are just super-charged, aka over-aspected or chaotic. They can be of any element, just way too much of it.

It's like the aetheric equivalent of radioactive.
