All of this is just idle speculation. However in Duty Commenced they referenced the housing price adjustment as being among classes of plots, which seems much more fair to me. These people with literally hundreds of millions of gil have likely been playing a rather long time, and shouldn't necessarily have so tremendous an advantage in buying housing by pricing up to their level.

Disagree. They've been playing a long time and still don't have a house? How long do you want them to wait? Those who have been waiting the longest having an advantage on getting a house first seems appropriate to me.

I think anyone who has managed to save enough gil for a house should be able to purchase it, regardless. Imposing monetary roadblocks based on time played, as opposed to player effort would be a whole other level of exclusionary. We will have to agree to disagree I guess.

That would be ideal. It's not possible though because housing is limited. You can save up enough and end up with nothing.
