[ FFIX/FFXIV spoilers] Is this the new trial?

You really got to be in the mood for single player games when I was playing XIV, I hardly touched single player games for a long time but got over the addiction.
I'd say it's worth playing some Final Fantasy titles just for better appreciation of a lot of aspects of XIV since the game is pretty a theme park made for long time fans of the Final Fantasy series hence why there's so many throwbacks to the older titles, not limited to just bosses and Crystal Tower.

(VIII is a very controversial game btw, like II and XIII, will either put you off single player FF's forever or you'll love it)

I've tried VII (sort-of), I did not have a playstation, so I got an emulator on my PC. It crashed after 10 seconds. I tried this on like 5 different occasions over the years and finally gave up.
I've tried XIII, where I played for about 30 minutes, quit. Tried again a couple years later, played 30 minutes, quit.
I've tried X, where I got to Seymour on the mountain. It seemed like I was underleveled and had to grind levels to beat him, didn't care enough and quit heh.
I tried the XV demo and was unimpressed

I may enjoy VIII though *shrugs*

Ozma, eh? I'd rather that be the new Hildy trial than the Mhach boss. At least as the Hildy trial it would have a chance at having an EX version made.

I've beaten FFIX, but I think I tried challenging Ozma exactly once, and got curbstomped.

Everyone gives up at Seymour since he's pretty much the boss that tests what you know about the game, bio/poison is your friends
And you can pick up VII on Steam w/cheats if you really just to experience the story if you can get past the ugly field models it's a great ride, it's even Yoshida's favorite game in the series!!

The Key to beating Ozma was to have Eiko in your party and a royal butt load of Pheonix Pinions? did I get that item right? Anyway if you had a Game shark and were on your 3rd run through in which it is ok to play with cheats, taking this boss on was a piece of cake with Pheonix fully unlocked on Eiko 99 pheonix pinion equated to immortality. When Ozma did his full wipe mechanic Rebirth Flame was always on point so you could resume pummeling this boss with Dark Matter at 99999 damage a pop without dancing between party members or relegating one to revival duty. It's only slightly cheaper than "ooooh Lifa Tree pop" throw Elixir at it Instant KO. Or running up and down that one beach for 5 hrs powerleveling your teams by casting Life on the zombie whales, another instant KO mechanic.
