All the players i have trouble with ingame are from those servers maybe im sick of it they think they know everything
And all the players I have trouble with are from Sargatans, you don't see me mindlessly attacking them.
What you're not understanding is that no one's saying they're going to ignore threat (the other poster and I both made sure to state that we establish threat first, as is our role) - and it's not even about 'being a dick to someone', it's about 'making the run faster and smoother.'
If a healer wants to heal 24/7, giving them something to heal by dropping Tank stance isn't a bad idea. It raises the party's DPS. It makes you a little more squishy (taking away that 20% mitigation :P) but honestly - if your healer is ONLY healing, that's not even a problem.
Know what a dick move would be? "If my healer wants to heal, then I'll just not pop any mitigation and not worry about threat so all the DPS are tanking. That'll give 'em something to do!"
Seriously. THAT would be dickish. But you're being hyper-sensitive about a serious non-issue.
Oh this topic again huh?
As a WAR I will generally commend a healer who attempts to toss out some DPS, even if it's only a nuke or 2 per pull. I generally won't commend a healer if they stand there and over-cure me while I am in Deliverance spamming Bloodbathed Overpowers and keeping myself alive. (Of course, commendations still come from being friendly etc etc from time to time).
The concept of healer DPS is simple. Your job is to heal & keep the party alive, sure. However, one of the most effective ways to do this is to assist with DPS so things die faster.
If you're a WHM, then cast 3x Holys. The stun is mitigation for the tank, it does damage, and generally by the time those 3 go off, the mobs are dead. Shouldn't even need to throw a heal on the tank most of the time.
SCH? Swift cast a Shadowflare, throw up your DoTs (no, the tank won't die in 3-4 GCDs especially with your fairy), toss out a Bane..
I guess the point here is that dealing damage IS doing your job, because you are there to stop people from dying. If the mobs are dying before the tank/your party, then you are indeed doing your job.
SE didn't give healers nukes, and didn't continue to give them nukes from the rise in level cap just so you could spam more heals and not use them. Damage skills are there for a reason.
However no, I wouldn't hound on a healer that isn't nuking, they just generally won't get a commend from me.
I see your point, but as people have already mentioned, it wouldn't help much just sitting there and heal either, simply because they would still chase me, of course not much as me dpsing them and healing at the same time.
However when I level up a new character I wanna know and learn about the new spells and adjust myself to the higher level healing. Too be honest, I've seen sooo many people fail on healing on niddhog or last boss on vault boss. When I play, 95% of the time, I don't wanna do it half assed, I'm trying my best and if my best isn't good enough it's about time to adjust myself and re-learn the class or simply ask people who knows the class. But when you can't do 2-3 overpowers, is that simply too much to ask for? And yes really 5 times, I even used shroud at some pull that managed to save my ass, so I wouldn't die.

Well, I mean, at least as scholar, the only reason to even play it is to be a gimped summoner and throw all the healing requirements on the fairy/other healer. If you don't DPS, what else would you be doing?

Uh, purposely pulling off the tank when they're trying to help speed things up makes you the dick though.
I don't see how dropping tank stance is negative in this case. If the healer wants to stand around, jump in circles or do the Manderville till there's actual healing to be done, dropping tank stance to push more DPS is a logical thing to do as long as you can keep hate. I mean, if I really wanted to be confrontational I'd tell the healer to quit watching Netflix and standing around while they're in a dungeon. In this case, they're advocating simply adjusting their play style to the healer's instead of starting a squabble in the party that could possibly lead to someone leaving/getting kicked. Let's face it, healing in this game is kind of a snorefest unless you're doing Savage raiding or your party is full of godawful people that are magnetically attracted to AoE markers.
If you don't get mad at the concept of healer DPS, why get mad at the concept of tank DPS? I'm lost here.
You're getting very upset over people's servers, which has nothing to even do with the conversation. o.O

I will never understand why ppl refuse to DPS and only want to heal 24/7... its freaking boring without dpsing... even in other games.

If a healer is doing nothing but pure healing and no dps whatsoever. Then I am going to pull everthing including the kitchen sink, and then drop tank stance, that will give them something to heal
