Suggestion: Dungeon gear increasing dungeon drop chance

What's your thoughts on dungeon gear increasing dungeon gear drop chance?

    E.G
    • 1 piece increases chest item rate by 15%
2 piece increases chest item rate appearance by 20%

Full set of items could increase special dungeon loot items like furnishing materials by 30% or minions by 10%?

I could get behind this, but see a utterly different approach.

First it wouldn't be piece of armor to equip, but instead a TRAIT that is earned through a lengthy quest. In fact several traits. One for minions, another for TT Cards, another for music scrolls, and perhaps many others for different materials, armors, weapons.

Each trait would be earned after you completed the quest, and become an 'always on trait' depending on level (I'd imagine most would be 60). A player could focus on earning the specific traits they wanted, (For example I collect TT cards, an increased drop rate would be something I'd value a lot) and could work to customize their drop rates as they valued. And there could be multiple levels of each also, erasable at different level tiers. (Increased Minion Drop I, II, III at 30, 50, 60 perhaps)

Could be fun. As long as said traits were not something like 1%+... and more like healthy 5-10%'s

This is why Rogue/Thief should have been given gil-boosting traits and Steal. I miss steal...

I don't miss those days being in the outskirts of Windhurst or Bastok farming Beehive Chips or Silk Cocoons

I feel like someone who already has a plethora of scrolls, cards, etc would not benefit as much from increased drops as a newer player. Also how would this work in a party setting? Would you get a buff to your own roll? That would be unfair. Could the whole party roll from it? It would be less a personal benefit then and more of a group benefit, I guess. I could see the drop rates getting to high in an 8 man setting where everyone is buffed by 10%ish.

For things that don't just drop into inventory (Like most cards and scrolls do) yes, the trait would have an indirect benefit to the entire party by default. Not only you, but everyone would get a better shot at that minion. Not a bad thing. As to the drop getting overly high, the code could easily not make it cumulative, just take the highest plus rate from all people in the party and apply it once. (4 people, two have no plus, one has 10%+ and one has 20%+; the game applies 20%)

If the quests to get + traits were lengthy or grindy enough perhaps they would even put a player in small demand for some events. A bit of differentiation.

You want me to keep a full additional set for each job in my already full armory chest and change gearsets everytime I do my roulettes? No, thank you.

Time for me to dust off this old gal? I think so... Give us FFIXs AP system.

Seriously... This is the perfect way to add horizontal progression to this game... It completely gets around the inventory issues of needing multiple sets of gear, OK you'd still need to jump into a dungeon to obtain a set with "Treasure Hunter" on it (which I guess would be what the OP is asking for), but once you've unlocked that? You can toss that gear, you'd just go to a menu and set "Treasure Hunter" like you did with various stats in FFIX. It can add value to virtually every set of equipment in the game, without forcing people to gear for different things... Doing Void Ark? Just set "Demon Killer", rather than equipping a "Demon Killer" set of gear. Fighting Ifrit? Perhaps there is a specific Fire resistance stat you can set. They could do so much with this system...
