MSQ Meridianum + Praetorium: A self-imposed dilemma

If you were on Adamantoise, I'd happily run you through the dungeons...they were soloable with some determination as a fresh sixty, so I can't imagine they'd be hard to duo or trio with curent gear.

Maybe post in PF looking to hook up with a couple of sixties, or ask in your server's novice network for a mentor or two to run you through?

I'd personally just recommend it for Prae, not CM. CM's cutscenes are all filler except maybe one. And by filler I mean "oh, there's a light going off, that totally needed a minute-long cutscene!"

From my experience, nobody cares if you stand around watching cutscenes in CM and Prae while the rest of the party does the dungeon, and I usually encourage people to do that if I see a bonus message at the start. It sucks that you need to choose between doing the dungeon and watching the cutscenes when doing it the first time - I had to, as well - but it is currently the best compromise we have if you do it via DF. But, as others have pointed out, a PF might be your best option. I'm pretty sure a lot of people wouldn't mind helping you out, since many went through the same issue when they first started the game.

As a heads up for you: the dev team realized that the way they structured these two dungeons was a mistake, and changed the way they handle dungeons and trials that are tied to the MSQ so these problems don't happen again, and it mostly worked out pretty well so far.

You might be surprised, I do the roulette quite regularly, and most of the time I've found everyone very tolerant of people doing it the first time. They don't complain about them watching cutscenes, will wait if someone has to go back and pick them up if they get lost, etc. And really, if you're not prepared to be supportive of someone's first go, you shouldn't be going in there.

It's been suggested in here, but when my alt hit level 50, I hooked up a bunch of friends who were doing their relics and could use my bonus, and then we just went in and watched the cutscenes for the first time in our lives (I hit level 50 for the first time over a year ago, but skipped all cutscenes because I was TERRIFIED of being kicked). Hell, the warrior-gone-as-monk even solo'd the last boss of the Praetorium, neither me nor my friend tossed a single heal on him and we had a good chuckle.

And like others, if we were on the same server I'd have gone with you :c I usually try lagging a little behind if there's a newbie left in the dust so they don't get lost, because I was left in the dust and got locked out of the first boss. Thankfully my group back then realised I was the newbie and just complimented me on the ability to keep up after said first boss.

Best to ask FC / LS friends, and if you still cannot get 8 people together then you could try to find cooperative people through Party Finder.

From time to time I see PF groups to help newer players get through content for the first time, even level synced, and viewing all cut scenes. These parties actually fill up pretty quickly on my server.

You get 100 extra tomestones as compensation so that's bollocks. They should make it so that if new players skip the cutscenes the number of tomestones gets nerfed cause dungeon isn't hard enough to warrant compensating people that much for a carry.

Also the argument 'you can just re-watch the cutscenes in the inn room is both not entirely accurate (cause not all cutscenes are actually in that list) and is kind of like skipping large sections of a movie and telling anyone else watching that they can just go back and watch them on youtube later. It isn't really the same experience.

Yeah, PF it. It's easier nowadays if you're willing to use the undersized party option; you no longer NEED to assemble a group of 8 to do it, and tbh unless everyone you bring is also new and needs the dungeon as well, I guarantee you that even at the level 50 / ilvl135 sync whoever isn't new will be demolishing the dungeon anyway even if you don't use undersized.

Plus with poetics being in demand once again for anima stuff, there will be some people that'd still go for a newbie bonus.
